It is the fact that people can communicate by the way of images or languages. But which is the most effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people, images or language? While some prefer images, I believe that language is the most effective way to communicate an idea or value, for the advantage of more precise and convenient, comparing to understandable and vivid images in communication.

As the threshold matter, it is true that to communicate by images has certain advantages as the understandable and vivid. Since the image is the way to describe exactly what people have saw or to express their feeling by images and colors, which is common sense of human, images is more vivid and understandable than language in communications. Like the prehistoric people to interpret their exiting after a successful hunting by the images of the scene of hunting with bright red indicating their feelings, which could be understood easily even nowadays, while the languages of ancient civilization makes archeologists confusing and some meanings of them are still kept unknown. Therefore, images have the advantages of understandable and vivid than language.

Meanwhile, the superiority of language should not be ignored in communication among large groups of people, that it can interpret abstract ideas or values more precisely and convenience than images. Such is the matter of fact, when to interpret an abstract meaning, such as an idea or value, rare images could be put into practice to well and accurately express our thinking. For example, the meaning of development, which could be hardly expressed by a single image or symbol. And to express the meaning of development, large amount of images are required to demonstrate the appearance of development in every aspects to different people, some times misunderstanding is inevitable. In contrary, it is easier and more convenient to interpret the meaning of development by describing it by language. Thus, language is more effective to communicate the idea and value, which is abstract to a group of people.

Based on the superiority of both language and images, the combination of language and images is the perfect way to communicate among large group of people effectively. Admittedly nowadays, language is the dominating way in communication, from the daily talk to the formal conventions. But when to express an impalpable thing, which is hardly interpreted merely by language or images, the use of language associated with images could combine the advantage of images and language, and makes communication understandable and impressive. Like the TV program, it is easily understood by people, for the pellucid instruction of pictures and explanation As a result, the effective way to communicate is the cooperation of language and images.

To sum up, according to what had been discussed above, a conclusion could be draw safely that it is the use of language that is the most effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people, for the advantages of more precise and convenient in communication. However, to better and clearer express the ideas or values, the most effective way is the perfect combination of language and images.
