While it is true that money spent on research is mostly a good investment, which does not necessarily mean that we should continually sponsor the research which is controversial. Although some influence of the results may not be predicted before they came about, we should use our money carefully in every kind of research.

Admittedly, research, especially the scientific research speed up the development of the society. Although the scientific research seems t far away from ordinary people, we still enjoy the every benefit that introduce by them. Without the invention of computer and internet, nobody is able to contact others simply through an email or web-meeting. Without the research on heat, the refrigerator may not be invented; therefore foods can not even be stocked more than one day at present. Let alone the cool water and ice-cream be enjoyed today. As a matter of fact, it is human beings' responsibilities to focus on the research that might influence their lives one day.

However, there is still some research that caused a lot controversial topic. The most remarkable one is cloning. At the first, cloning is considered to make more artificial organs available that can help people live longer. But with the development of the research, more and more problems appeared that not only included the technical problems that the cells cloned are hard to controlled, but also other problems such s social, family, even individual problems. For example, if the family can choose to produce a baby that has both intelligence and beautiful appearance by spending a lot of money, cloning will become a source of inequity between the rich and poor people. And due to the uncontrolled new clone, once they were produced, they might face difficulty to lead their own lives since their parents-that might be looked identical to them-will force them to do some thing they may not want to do. Thus, in order to avoid such problems that might lead our lives into disaster, we should better ask the ban of such research.

Usually, the influence of a research might not be predicted before the research came out. When Nobel invented the power which is intent to used in construction at the very beginning, he might not expect that what he invent destroy hundreds of cities, even millions of human beings were dead under the use of power. Therefore, the research that already been sponsored should be carefully inspected by the government and almost every people in the world. Once there is any possible harm might be brought out by the research, we should check it seriously to discuss whether it will continually harm mankind. If the results are proved to be harmful, regulations, even ban should be carried out to avoid them.

Research likes a sword with both edges. Although the research benefits us a lot in reality, it may also leave the right track of the original purpose. When we spend money on the research, we still need to watch its development to discuss whether we should support or discard it further.
