Education is regarded as one of the most vital affairs in the social activity which significantly influences the prospect and future of the society and human. Some people advocate that it is imperative to design the specific education programs for individual in terms of personal demands and interest, and claim that this is the only way to ensure the effect of education. In fact, as for this controversial issue, the problem is far more complicated than it appears, a detailed scrutiny might help us to acquire a comprehensive understandings.

To begin with, it is essential to design and arrange education while carefully taking the requirements and interests of the educatee into consideration. As an old Chinese saying goes, "interest is the best teacher ", which appropriately explains the significance of interest in the process of implementing educations. As we know, interests enable us to pursue and explore the unknown field and knowledge with abundant initiative and enthusiasm, which finally promotes us to surpass ourselves and make remarkable achievement in the certain area. In other words, the enormous power and impetus from interest in unlimited and never should be underestimated. For instance, the great inventions and prominent achievements of Nobel, a famous Swedish chemist, whose legacy is used for funding the Nobel Prize each year, attributed his success to his interest in chemistry. Therefore, without the feeling of satisfaction and achievement from interest, it is hard to people to make outstanding accomplishment.

A major problem, we may encounter in designing the education, is that the restricted energy, fund, education faculty may not serve to meet the interests of all the individuals or all the interests of individuals. Particularly, the interests vary from people to people significantly which are difficult to be considered comprehensively. In general, the educational fund accounts for a large share in the government budget, which mainly comes form tax. Some developing countries have such a huge financial capability to support the diversified education.

On the other hand, not all of the interest should be taken into account in the process of planning education, since there are two types of interests: rational and irrational. For instance, interests on the truth, knowledge and positive affairs is rational and should be encouraged and satisfied, then the initiatives and enthusiasm of people can be aroused which promote them to make great progress. Meanwhile, some irrational requirements should be discouraged, such as curiosity about trying marijuana, alcohol and so on, which might do great harm to their health. For instance, some youth who feel interested in trying marijuana might get them addicted and what is worse is those youth might behave violating the laws to steal or rob money for satisfying their irrational demands for marijuana. Hence, it is necessary for us to distinguish the kinds of interests carefully and discreetly.

However, the education should not be totally constrained by the demands of the individuals; instead the education departments should be responsible for setting some fundamental courses which aim to improve the basic and essential capabilities of educatee, such as logical thinking, a sense of responsibility, and so forth. It is understandable that the experience and knowledge of individuals is limited, thus in some cases they are unable to make a sensible choice for the education. Therefore, courses such as mathematics, composition, physical educations should be arranged even the students might regard it boring, since these education programs would improve them in many aspects and prepare them for the real interest and future pursuit.

In summary, the controversy over the issue of education has never ended yet. Nevertheless, we should always bear in our mind that the education should be designed for the benefit of the educatee and their interests should not be neglected, or else the effect of the education might be discounted to a large extent.
