Art is a tool of expressing human's ideals, emotions, and impressions. Famous artists created many classical artworks, and they have been high valued until now. Artists are the creator of these values; however, people could not ignore the contribution of critics, who evaluate artworks. Without these critics, a lot of outstanding artworks would be neglected.

Critics have an very important place in art field. No matter novels, films, music or paintings, any kind of art forms is evaluated by critics. This evaluation is benefit to arts and artists, because it can be an impulse to encourage artists and give artists many advices to improve their artworks. Film is a very example, every year there are several film festivals in different countries. In those film festivals, many excellent films are evaluated to contest some awards. Through being evaluated by critics and other artists, all artists could recognize the advantages and disadvantages of their own films. And in addition, awards, such as the Oscar award, also inspirit artists to create more excellent and lasting artworks for people.

Secondly, some lasting values of arts are discovered by critics, and without these critics, these great artworks would not be recorded on human's history. For instance, the artworks of Picasso, the greatest impressionism painter, were not precious at first, because the impressionism arts are too difficult to comprehend. People even did not understand what he drew. Fortunately, the professional critic realized the meaning of Picasso's strange paintings, and evaluated his works correctly. After the critics explained the Picasso's paintings, people understood the real values and significances of those priceless paintings. Therefore, people in the nowadays could enjoy his eternal works, such as Dove, The Dream, and Boy with Pipe.

Furthermore, critics also contribute the development of the study in the realm of arts and ultimately help the artists to create a better works in the future achievement. Not only the common person can learn how to appreciate the profound works of the arts but the artists themselves also get the real reflect of their works. This is especially essential for the young artists who have little experience of creating artworks. Most of the critics know the evolutions from a student to a master, so they can give the young artists the earnest and useful suggestion for the primary works. These critiques can improve the young artists' ability of creating arts, and give them a right way of seeking real arts.

Finally, although critics are crucial, no one can deny that most of the world famous artworks had been achieved through a long time efforts and all-consuming works of the artists. Beethoven lost his hearing, but he composed the world-shaking symphony. Dante was banished, but he created the world-famous work the Deity. These great works should attribute to the artists' inspiration and experience.

To sum up, the artists' efforts and the critics are both indispensable factors of an artwork of lasting value. The artists can become more skillful and confident with critics' opinions, and the critics also can make their abilities of evaluating arts progress. To bring more artworks of lasting value, the society do not lack artists and critics either.
