Did everyone find the graduate requirements?

It really varies a lot, by university and by department.

For example, the top research university in Canada is the University of
Toronto.

The Graduate School requires a minimum of 93 total and a 22 minimum for
Speaking and Writing.

For incoming Biochemistry graduate students, the same requirements exist.

But if you want to get a 1-year Masters degree in Law at the University of
Toronto, you need a 100 total and 22 minimum for Speaking and Writing.

I can tell you other schools if you are interested.

It's not that the total score is "higher." It's that the iBT is testing more skills...

That sounds like an obvious statement, but sometimes people forget it.  But Chinese students need to remember-- the teachers and admissions officers in Canada and the US who are deciding what score to ask for--- they KNOW that the old PBT had big problems with "gaofen dineng."   They saw so many smart Chinese students with 667 or higher on the PBT who came to the university and then could not speak a word in a classroom.  

So, that's why they want to see true performance on speaking tests, and the integrated questions in writing (involving listening).

If you focus on practicing speaking, writing and listening, it really and truly is not that hard-- because the ETS raters don't care if you make little grammatical mistakes or use fancy vocabulary. You just have to be able to make your points. And Chinese students are SMART, very smart. You all can definitely do this successfully, if you focus correctly.
