The speaker asserts that how children are sociallized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bing about a better society. I do not entirely agree with this assertions. However, the socialization of children is only one factor effecting the destiny of society, and the speaker's second claim neglects the abilities of children's self-education.

In the first place, children's abilities of communication and tolerance of different opinion will impact the destiny of society. If people can be tolerant to those people who have different opnions, and can exchange their  different viewpoint, there is no war, conflicting, misunderstanding. For instance, if people in Isreal and Palestine can stop do hurt each others and have a heart and soul tolerance to make constructive accords, they can found a good society without historical bias, and construct their beatiful Saint City to different religous belief. Without these abilities, it will bring about disasters not only to the individuals but to the destiny of society.

However, there are many other factors determining the destiny of society, the socialization of children is just one of them. To some extent, social destiny  is not only determined by the socialization of  its future owners, but decided by other abilities of them, such as technologies, moral standards and so forth.
A good example can shed some light on this point: people in certain society hold the view of moral standard that the marriage of relatives is welcomed and regarded as the strengthening the relationship between them. So far as that is concerned, after hundreds of years, this society will extinct because of the genetic diseases. The Maya society was possible destroried by this reason.  Another example from the technologies, the members in some society  do not develop their medicine technologies and believe that people who get illed should go for the forgiving of the god. Any inflective illness will eliminate this society such as white plague. Without considering all such factors the society will be destroied by other reasons, even the children were well socilized.

Furthermore, the speaker overlooks the abilities that children can teach themselves after they enter the society. As we all know, the society will not change according to an individual will, if people want to live better in society should to change themselves to adapt it. For instance, in the period of war, people who have the responsibility to will fight for their country should involve to the war no matter how they educated that killing human is wrong and how they don't want to be killed when they were children. Society is a teacher which can teach its members to adapt it. Unless children interact with the demand of society, they will be eliminated by it.

All in all, without better ability of exchanging viewpoints each other and agreement of  different ideas, childre can not be adept to the society and the destiny of society will get worse relatively. Although we have not yet learned how to raise children to bring about a better society, they can learn through their experiences from society and shape themselves to be acceptable to society thourgh the interaction with it.
