Dear Prospective Students,

I am looking for talented students to join my research Lab., Machine Vision and Pattern Recognition Lab. (MVPRL) in Department of Computer Science at Wayne State University (WSU). WSU is located at Detroit, Michigan and is a Research-I university, the highest rating issued by the Carnegie Foundation. The Scientist Magazine has recently ranked WSU as one of the best academic institutions to work in USA.

Our research interests lie on pattern recognition and multimedia analysis, with a special focus on biomedical applications. The research results from MVPRL have been widely published in many premium journals and conferences, such as IEEE Trans. on Computers, IEEE Trans. on Neural Networks, Journal of MRI, ACM Multimedia 2005, CVPR 2006, and ICDM 2006. The Ph. D. students at MVPRL have been honored by ACM Multimedia IBM Award, ICDM 2006 IBM Award, and IEEE W. J. Karplus Summer Research Grant. I am currently looking for talented students to join MVPRL as Ph.D. students. Preferred qualifications are as follows,

1.      Strong academic background and research experience, i.e. Master degree in related fields. High-quality publication, especially in English, is a big plus.
2.      Highly-motivated and goal-oriented
3.      Excellent written and oral English
