17"There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."
Throughout the history, more and more laws have been enacted to ensure the order and secure of the whole society, however, some of which are somewhat unjust and others are just. This aspect gives us the very reason for distinguishing most laws in order to obey or especially disobey and resist, which seems significant to our benefits as well as to the social development.
Just laws which are mostly concerned with important dealings among our society with an equal, disinterested and unbiased attitude, and the final aim of which, though some are to be marred by this, is to keep the whole society secure and in order, i.e. for the interests of most people but not uniquely for several individuals. As a result, such laws, such as those aimed at the violations or criminals, should be paid much attention and especially obeyed by individuals. It’s the obligation of all of us to keep them valid and inviolate by obeying them from which, maybe only from which, we are able to own the right and final interests the laws and the society endows us, otherwise, if we continue to ignore or even violate them, what result from these kind of conduction maybe that the society is out of order and as a consequence we are forced to suffer much more from the chaos and insecure society.
On the other hands, the necessity for us to obey the just laws doesn’t leads us to obey all laws, among which the unjust ones should be disobeyed and even resisted strongly. In fact, with the diversity of the society in the present, more and more unjust laws are regulated formally or informally under the instigator with money and other interests. Some special fees, for instance, come to emerge among some schools to collect money from students these days, and for this, some local laws have been regulated, which are informal and unjust and should ensuing disobeyed or resisted by most of us, among which, the government plays a significant role as shown in China. Another example is emergence of some unjust laws in history with the aim of benefiting only a small population, especially the wealthy or the leaders and administrators. These kinds of laws are also should violated and abrogated as soon as possible, which is the proper and efficient way fighting the unjustness and inequality, and as proved by quantitive examples in history, it is the fighting that keeps the unjustness from expanding much more and that finally makes them extinguish from the society returning advantages to people as well as impressing the world to process.
In short, the administrators, when enacting new laws, should pay attention to justness and efficiency of them, and in turn, people should distinguish between just and unjust laws before obeying or resisting them, which is necessary to not only individuals but the whole society.

190The following is a letter to the editor of the Glenville Gazette, a local newspaper.
"Over the past few years, the number of people who have purchased advance tickets for the Glenville Summer Concert series has declined, indicating lack of community support. Although the weather has been unpredictable in the past few years, this cannot be the reason for the decline in advance ticket purchases, because many people attended the concerts even in bad weather. Clearly, then, the reason for the decline is the choice of music, so the organizers of the concert should feature more modern music in the future and should be sure to include music composed by Richerts, whose recordings Glenville residents purchase more often than any other contemporary recordings. This strategy will undoubtedly increase advance ticket purchases and will increase attendance at the concerts." |
