Firstly, the professor mentions of the difference between young children and adults encode the information they accept. According to the professor, young children encode the information randomly; whereas, adults encode the information in organized patterns. This explains why people do not remember first 3 to 5 year which the reading mentions.

Furthermore, the professor also makes a point of why young children and adults encode the information in different way. It is due to hippocampus, one part of human brain which helps to organize human memories. When people are just 3 to 5 years old, hippocampus still is not matured. Therefore, young children cannot organize their memories. This gives a detailed explanation to show the truth of the phenomenon which the reading mentions.

In conclusion, the explanation made by the professor definitely supports the reading, and demonstrates that childhood amnesia certainly exists.
