Issue56 Governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future.
Outline:
1.In some aspects, the immediate problems proved to be more important. It pave the road for the future.
2.In some other realms, government should solve the anticipated problems rather than the immediate problem. If a government which has not a far-reaching vision,it is hard to be success.
3.we should balance it between the immediate problem and the anticipated problems because of the limit of financial and resources.
It is a dilemma problem for the government whether the government should choose to solve the immediate problem instead of solving the anticipated problems of the future or the other hand. My point is when the current problem is the shortage of food or something else related to people’s lives, solving the anticipated problems must be more important.
Some current thing is urgent which may incur an unpredictable result without handling it in time. For example, the SARS impress profoundly each one in China. As the disease rose to the surface, the government did not pay enough attention to it. It spread so rapidly that government cannot control it and a large majority number of people died because of SARS infection. Eventually, many things cannot be saved even though government spent large effort. On the other hand, solving the immediate problem can pave the road for our future. The environment is another good example to demonstrate this, with the rapidly development of the industrialization, an enormous number of industries tend to earn more profits at the expense of polluting environment. Nevertheless, more and more survey reveal that many diseases rises from the environment pollution, such as the new cancer risks resulting from exposure to chemicals or other agents and the deformation of newborn infant because of the water pollution. Nowadays, many countries have realized the devastating effect the pollution bring out. Governments take action to restrict the pollution and improve our environment. How can we imagine if the government do not pay attention to the pollution? Industry must compete for the profit more drastically without considering the environment surrounding. As a result, all people suffered injury including the industry selves. People will live in the litter world, they are unhealthy, unhappy, let alone the economic developing.
In some aspects, the immediate problems proved to more important. From the moral angle, if people in some areas are suffering a calamity such as a flood or a drought, they must face starving or disease. At this time, government should do their best effort to save them at the expense of the alternative important things. Otherwise, the government will be distrusted by its people, the country will fall into a chaos or civil war. In some other realms, however, governments should solve the anticipated problems rather than the immediate problem. Just like the environment saying above, governments and some corporate spend much money to pure the environment which they polluted before, although it is not advantage for their revenue in the short time due to the high cost, it is wise to do that. As is known to all, almost all the things we cannot run rightly without the energy power有问题吗?. It is reasonable to say that it is the energy power that make the whole world running orderly. Unlukily, the energy power is not reproducible. A good invest on the research about exploring new resources which government gives is quiet necessary even if it may sacrifice the immediate problem considering the limit of financial. So it is self-evident that without a far-reaching vision a government will be very hard to success.
Considering the limitation of the resources and financial problems, Not only government but also ourselves should find a strick between the current problem and the future question.
