Nowadays we are in such a developing fast society with high modernization and industrialization, meanwhile our entironment are emmersed in a very awful plight. As people are commiting themselves to build a effulgent humane civilization, then pollution and destroy to the natualization seems inevitable. Thus I generally agree with the author that Government should preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their natural state, even though these areas are often extremely remote and thus accessible to only a few people, for whose value will be testified estimable by times. However, the methods and estent of preserving should also be considered carefully as well.

Scanning widely, it is common to see that people all over the world exploit nature resources as much as they can to serve for themselves, as the skyscrapers and all sorts of factories are built everywhere, which need enormous amount of raw and processed materials and produce commodities to satisfy people's needs all the time, meanwhile they do really harm to our entironment, somtimes the extent of pollution and its potential effect are out of our imagnation, many sorts of plants animals in wilderness areas are in the corner of being close to dying out. It is really the time to preserve wilderness areas and only can government can attach it efficiently. However, in daily life it is common to see so many movements to call on paying more attention to protect enviornments by organizations of environmentalists, and it is also common to see their inefficacy more than once. What result in this is that these organizationgs lacks of authority and financial supports which are owned by one certain government easily. Those factories which let pollutions out may not think much of environmentalists’ words but have to obey governments’ relative orders such as controlling the quality and guideline of waste water and so on. Only have a powerful guarantee by goernments can we really preserve natural state rather than calling on such things.

Meanwhile the scientific methods and the degree of preserving should be considered aboratively. Firstly, some wilderness areas in their natural state such as tropical ranforests have their own ecotypical adjustment to their surroundings and some indiscret protection may disturb the balance of ecosystem, thus we do nothing to preserve it but just the opposite to what one wishes at all. It is important for governments to realize that only building nature parks or protect zones blindly don’t mean preserving but lead to another worse trendency. Moreover, governments should also perserve wilderness areas properly after measuring their own power of economic correctly, anyway the economic is the most important things for a whole nation and before solving its economic problems it is unrealistic to pay much attention to protect the environment, just like Congo and Iraq etc which are immersed in wars couldn’t .afford to preserve the environment.

In summury, preserving our enviornment properly and efficiently never is an easy work to human being. Government should see to it with responsibility and scientific methods while doing it according to its abilties.Fortunately, some governments have realized the hinges of the problem and are well on the way to attain the goal by appropriate and .practical ways.
