The speaker claims that government should focus more on solving today's immediate problems instead of trying to solve the anticipated future problems. Based on actual observation of our society and its existing problems, I agree with the speaker that government should pay much attention to today's urgent problems, though I concede that it is necessary to tackle the problems that may happen in the future.
First of all, solving the immediate problems is indispensable to sustaining(是动词原型sustain吧) the development of our society. As is well-known to us, today's society is experiencing many pressing problems, such as juvenile delinquency, drug addiction, air pollution, etc., which have produced negative effects on our daily lives and will surely debar the progress of(不确定这个用法,呵呵) our society if these pressing and urgent problems are not properly addressed. For supporting examples, one need look no more than a local river, which was seriously polluted by a paper-making plant. This river served as the water source for drinking and irrigating. Unfortunately, since the pollution, people, who often drank the water from (the) river, developed several kinds of physical problems due to the toxin in polluted water and people's normal lives were disrupted because of lacking in drinking water. Besides, people depending on the river for watering the crops suffered a lot from the loss of(用decrement in会更好吗) crop production, for polluted water severely stunted(这个我去查下,没见过,呵呵) the growth of the crops and due to this, people's lives were greatly affected. Hence, in such a situation as mentioned just now, it is urgent to address the problem to guarantee people's lives and thus keeping the development of our society.(这个例子好象不合适,可以举恐怖袭击或者别的,觉得这个例子没有支持你的观点。)
Secondly, it is only when we properly solve today's immediate problems that we do not have to deal with much more complex problems in the future.(这句有点别扭,可不可以改成if today's immediate problems are not treated properly, they will develop to much more complex problems in the future.好象没什么文采,呵呵,还是DING的文采好) It is a commonsense that today's problems are tomorrow's disasters(学到了), which signifies us that it is wise to kill the problem before it exacerbates. Take North Korea's nuclear issue as an example, many countries are aware that today's nuclear experiments in North Korea are latent hazards(潜在威胁,呵呵,学到了), which may cause nuclear disasters in the future. So, the best way to prevent such disasters is to persuade North Korea to give up the experiment. To achieve it, several rounds of 'six-party talks'(原来这么表达) were held in the past two years. Moreover, it is understandable that we will have to put in more to address a future problem derivating from one in today's society. Therefore, it is much better and essential to tackle the present problem(呵呵,还是没见过,又学到了) rather than leaving it to tomorrow.(这段的例子不错)
However, it should be admitted that to solve the anticipated problems of the future bears some advantages. To address the problems before they happen seems to be a wise practice, because by doing so, we can save a lot of money as well as energy. In addition, the anticipated problems will be the real problems of next generation, so from a practical point of view, it is also advisable that we begin to tackle them as soon as possible.
In sum, from what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that even though addressing anticipated problems is attractive in some situations, considering the reality in our society, our government should try to solve the problems that are happening around us.
看完全文,觉得论证还是比较到位的,不知道你说的跑题指什么,告诉我哦 |
