2. "Competition is ultimately more beneficial than detrimental to society."

• There is a much debate over being competitive or cooperative which is more important to the society progress.  Some people maintain that to become a competitive man is the way to survive in this world, whereas others argue that learning how to cooperate with each other could make the final success. As far as I concerned, these two parts are equal to each other and both of them make a great contribution to a nation.
  

• Firstly, competition is the crucial drive to the society. Competition encourages people challenge themselves and improves their abilities. In economic field, Competition is a way of life in today's business world, through which brings large profit to a company and society. Market economy and planned economy policy is the best example to support the view. In the past time, Chinese government took use of the planned economy policy which means there was no competition between each company and everything was planned by government. At that time, the economic level of China got behind compared to other countries. The Chinese government then changed it with market economy policy which brought the competition to all companies and even each person. To own much, each company had to compete with the other companies. This policy brings the economic innovation in China, which advance the economic level of China. In political field, a democratic country, when parties and candidates compete for power and honor, people benefits from it since the victorious part would promise people more welfare. In some western countries, some parties use different methods to attract the electorates. Usually, the competition between them is especially fierce. It is no wonder that there are several scandals recorded in the history. In academic field, the new theory is always the result of the people’s competition. Patent is the best example of the technologic competition. In another part, critical thinking is also a competition between people’s thinking. A famous professor in my major once told me,“Critical thinking is a path to intellectual adventure. Though there are dozens of possible approaches, the progress can be boiled down to concrete steps.”
  

• Admittedly, the cost of competition is very high. Competition in the form of arms race among powers is a severe waste of limited resources that we have on this planet, and will bring massive destruction to humankind.

Go it alone and you'll inevitably tumble.” In economic field, team works are the most important which are always emphasized by the commercial leaders. Take the famous Haier Company for example, this company only use 20 years to become the 25th most brilliant company in China and the branch of the company has stretched to the entire world. The reputation and achievement it gained is the hard work of its CEO Zhang Ruimin and its faculty. Without their excellent cooperation, they cannot survive in the fierce competition and success at last. In political field, if parties and candidates in a country are only focus on the competition between each other instead of being cooperative for the whole profit of the society, the country may come into chaos.The United Nations is supported by all the countries in it and the birth of each resolution is the result of the cooperation of all the member countries. In academic field, the born of each new theory is the endeavor of all the researchers, in which the collaboration plays a key role. Spacecraft cannot emission without the hard work of all the technicians.

•        文章从两方面讲竞争与合作对于社会都是必不可少的，每个通过在三个领域内进行说明。分析的比较有说服力。 但是个人觉得因为题目是关于竞争，所以应该重点放在竞争上，感觉竞争和合作都占用了相同的笔墨，而且说明的方法也都一样，经济，政治，教育。。。。。因此感觉重点还需要加强。
