"The study of an academic discipline alters the way we perceive the world. After studying the discipline, we see the same world as before, but with different eyes."


As president Roosevelt said, "The world can be changed by man's endeavor, and that this endeavor can lead to something new and better." I fundamentally agree with the assertion that the study of an academic discipline alters the way we perceive the world. While, at the same time, human beings influences and changes the nature world. So, in my view, the world and the human interact each other in the advance process. There are several reasons to support my position.

To begin with, the study of academic discipline makes people's view to the world more profound. In the ancient periods, our ancestors utilize stones, arrows, traps and so forth in order to attain food. At that era, the world is fraught with dangers and mysteries for them. They considered the would as square ground and rounded sky. With the development of knowledge for the world, people understand that the earth is global and there is an extremely extensive space outside of the earth. It is the theory of sun-centered system by Polish astronomer Copernicus's that enable people cognize the nature of heaven bodies' running. In the modern time, with the theory of microphysics and man-made satellites, people would be able to perceive the world from microcosm and macrocosm. Consequently, the study of discipline facilitates people's view to the world.

In another respect, the study of various disciplines extends the scope of people's vision. The advance of biology enable people to have a thorough cognition to human's physical natures. We get rid of the incorrect positions concerning the various diseases and make the successful treatment for some vital disease possible. The geography provides people a clear process of diastrophism and the reasons for various landforms forming. Modern physics plays an indispensable role not only in the advance of technologies but also in the process of people's perceives on this world. The comprehensive advances in science help people form the correct and all-sided understanding to the nature of the world.

Finally, the study of disciplines would guide the direction of practical activities that alters the original configurations of nature. The practical activity is particular for human, and it is also the symbol that differentiates the human with other animals. Consequently, since human begin to cognize this world, the nature would be different with what it was before, and it is branded by people's activities. Therefore, the world changes with the human's advance at the same time. People cannot consider the world as a fixed and changeless object, should hold a kind of evolutive position. What's more, people should pay enough attention to the impacts on the nature derives from human's activity. Otherwise, the development of human would be restrained by natural environment, and even move to the extinction unless we deal with the relationship with the nature properly.

In conclusion, in my view, I agree with that the study of an academic discipline alters the way we perceive the world, and what's more, we should cognize that the world is not changeless, and it would alter with the human's activity.
