In his statement, the speaker confidently asserts that video camera, which has been widely used in many aspects of life nowadays, should replace the written record means when recording contemporary life due to its distinguished accuracy and persuasiveness. However, in my observation, this is not necessarily the truth. Both camera recording and written records of life have their own specific merits, which contribute to the complete description and in-depth understanding of our contemporary life.To begin with, I fundamentally agree with the speaker’s assertion that video camera records of life are now playing an increasingly important role in documenting our contemporary life, because of(后面跟从句，应该用because) it provides(provide的用法: provide sb with sth, provide sth for sb) us (加with )an accurate and convincing view of what the world really looks like. Examples can be raised in terms of politics, social security, our day-to-day life, and so forth. When it comes to the politics, people now are feeling extremely normal, when they can have a direct and simultaneous look at what the government is like – how they conduct the routine work, how they have policies made and approved, and even how the departments concerned were reported and criticized when their implement of restrictions or personal behavior have some trouble. In fields of social security, the stealth and robbery can be traceable thanks to the accurate and objective video surveillance camera, which has recorded every detail and movement of the crimes scene. And when it comes to our everyday life, video camera has now , unarguably, become the most popular tool for us to record every cherished moment in our lives, such as the new-born baby’s first step on the earth, the graduation ceremony from the university, or the most romantic and sweet wedding ceremony, etc. (这些例子叙述的很好，但是我感觉很空洞，认为应举出更加具体的某事某人更好一些，你觉得呢？)On the other side, written records of life which have been the most frequently adopted means of documentation throughout the history are not likely to disappear with the emergence of other alternative technologically-advanced means. Reasons are conspicuous. While the video camera gives us the most direct and persuasive perspective in one dimension, written records provide us with descriptions and understandings in other dimensions, which the speaker might have underestimated.（下面的例子我认为没有说服力，题目是在现代社会生活中它代替了written documentation, 举例是说过去的literature books）For instance, the classic literature works have long been the precious culture heritages passed down for generations, since they not only show us what the life looks like at that period of time in human history, but also offer us an in-depth and thoughtful understandings of the world around them, which either inspires us to similar accomplishments of the great achievers, or determines to avoid us in repeating the disastrous mistakes they have made. In short, the development of human history and human society is significantly attributable to the documentation made in written form.To sum up, although both video camera records and written records of contemporary life are advantageous in some terms and aspects as it was mentioned above, they have their own flaws in each of themselves. Therefore, it is unreasonable to adopt only one of the two means which like what the speaker suggests in his statement, or the opposite, To have an accurate and convincing overview, as well as an in-depth and thoroughly understanding, we must learn to make good use （少了of）them both in order to serve us well in today’s changing world.
