Should government place few on scientific research and development? The speaker claims so. However, I concede that the money which is used on the science research in necessary but depends. Otherwise in my view, It will make the social stops developing if the government place few on scientific research in any case.

Firstly, if a result of research is uncertain or non-meaningful, the money used on them should be fewer. In one country, not only government, university, but also some enterprises do research works, some of the studies are directly benefit to the country but not all of them, and that lead to a waste of time and energy to do research on them. Take panda as an example, as we know, panda is a kind of animal which is going to die out, and researchers in China are all do best to save them. But this kind of animal has already been kept out from nature environment and the only value to save it is having an enjoyment for human beings to live together with such a lovely animal, but the cost of it is incredible. According to a research report in my university, the cost for feeding and taking care a panda is 10 million RMB Yuan per year, and it is to say, if send these money to built school in the area where is need elementary education, it will built 5 schools at less, and of course, the problem of education is more valuable than to save panda. So sometimes, to place few money on research is meaningful.

In addition, to give a more comfortable life to the citizens in a nation, it is also need for the government to pay some attention on the daily life of the people, but only on research and development. Nowadays any people live in the cities or village, they are all sorrowed by the problem of environment which do affect to human life. Here is an example to support my view, in China, two main rivers, ChangJiang river and HuangHe river, are both in pollution, and the people who stay by the bank are living a life lacking drinking water for more than 10 years. To develop the technology, the government has done so much pollution to the nature, and that lead to a poor life for people to live in such a poor environment, so the government should place more attention on the condition of daily life than the development.

However, in most time, research and development for a country is valuable for the future and it is necessary for government to take advantage on them. A country needs development, either in technology or other field. The chair man of China, Deng, once said (and I paraphrase) : "Development is reasonable for a country, and the technology is the most power for production" So it is necessary for the government to place more on develop and research

In sum, development is needed for a country, and it is also necessary for the government to pay attention on the daily life of people, and to balance the money which is used to develop for future and to develop for the moment.
