56"Governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the
anticipated problems of the future."

Should governments focus more on the immediate problems of today rather than the anticipated problems of the
future? I agree that current problems are more urgent to account for than future ones. Nevertheless, I think that
solving the problems of the future are more significant in the long term.
Admittedly, focusing on the immediate problems will obtain evident results. For example, when the river which
provides drinking water to a city is reported to be polluted by a chemical plant, the government should force the
plant to stop draining their waste water to river immediately. Once pollution resource disappears, citizen will
drink safe water again. It could be easily concluded from above instance that the timely actions will take effect on
immediate problems.
Further more, the immediate problems which are not regarded highly will probably develop to more serious issues.
This may be well illustrated by the example of a patient with common cold. If the patient refuses to accept any
treatments and his anti-virus system does not work well, his cold will be likely to develop to pulmonary disease to
cure which is far more difficult from the beginning slight illness.
Yet, the incorrect method to solve current problems will damage the future benefit. For instance, woods are much
in demand in our life, but if the speed of disafforestation exceeds the speed of forest growth, there will be no
tree to use in one day. So future benefit must be took into account when current problems are solved.
Besides, some immediate problems are the reflection of the anticipated problems of the future. Let us take
energy sources crisis for example. In the face of the absence of energy sources, people attempt to explore more oil
and even not hesitate to initiate a war. But, excessive exploration will result in more serious lack of sources. To
develop more replaceable sources is just the real solution which benefits both future and current problems.
In the final analysis, the immediate problems in deed need more concern to meet current requirements. But it is
unreasonable to deal with the problems of today without considering the problems of the future. Governments should
make a balance between both.

Admittedly, focusing on the immediate problems will obtain evident results. For example, when the river which provides drinking water to a city is reported to be polluted by a chemical plant, the government should force the plant to stop draining their waste water to river immediately. Once pollution resource disappears, citizen will drink safe water again. It could be easily concluded from above instance that the timely actions will take effect【语态】 on immediate problems.

Further more, the immediate problems which are not regarded highly【用个“分词or短语”足够】 will probably develop to more serious issues. This may be well illustrated by the example of a patient with common cold. If the patient refuses to accept any treatments and his anti-virus system does not work well, his cold willwould be likely to develop to pulmonary disease to cure which is far more difficult from the beginning slight illness.

Yet, the incorrect method to solve current problems will damage the future benefit. For instance, woods are much in demand in our life, but if the speed of disafforestation exceeds the speed of forest growth, there will be no tree to use in one day. So future benefit must be took into account when current problems are solved.

Besides, some immediate problems are the +directreflection of the anticipated problems of the future. Let us take energy sources crisis for example.

1)    语言上应该没有大问题;
