I consent to the speaker that the study of history has value when it is relevant to our daily lives. Meanwhile, I do not negate that it also has valve in other aspects which shows no direct relevant to out daily lives.

If we get a definition that the value of the study of history means that the study of history provide us some useful experiences. I would prefer to agree with it. Among the long rivers of history offers us a lot more useful experience and lessons which can help us resolve problems we face in daily lives. If people can absorb enough experience from history, undoubtedly they will find it more easy to solve the problems which is similar to others happened in the past. When it comes to the problems of how to well communicate with other people, unfortunately, a shame university students like me cannot discover a effective solution. However, when I look how Dell Carnegie did in his famous books which teach a person like me to develop communicating skill. I will benefit  from it. Thus I admit that the study of history has value because it usually help people solve problems found in their daily lives.

However, it is known that the study of history also has other value when we consider some aspects other than daily lives. So the speaker assess the value of study of history in a narrow limitation. Because of the diversity of history, all kind of events happened in different reasons. People who can make a better abstraction of history both with its causes and its results can use the study of history to guide other work. When we pay attention to the relationship between countries which is not relevant to our daily lives, we also discover that the study of history shows great reflection to modern world. Between China and Japan, the relationship depends not only on the economic and politic contact but also history problems. It is only when the study of history between researchers of two countries meet a compromise that the relationship between the two can really improve. In this aspect, it is reasonable that the study of history has unique effect in aspects other than personal lives.

Besides, some of the study of history which arms at the extinction of prehistoric animals possibly seems invaluable if we only speculate problems today. Yet in the long run, This kind of research in history is very important to prevent us from extinction. By studying how some prehistoric animals became extinct, we can take steps to improve out environment around. Other study of history in how human beings' origination, which shows less value in today, can also play a significant role in future. This sort of study raise our curiosity to research who we are and why we are selected as a owner of world. The discovery itself can also make people take more responsibilities to defend the Earth. So, it is useful for some study of history which may have no value both in daily lives and in other aspects today.

Why the speaker highlights the functions that study of history has in daily lives? Maybe he consider other aspects which is not relevant to personal lives are not harmful or useful for individuals. But some events, though seem far away from us, also have their effect to our daily lives. Some discovery in history about the politics help people between different countries well understand each other. Some study of history in science give scientists a new view of researches in science which is going to improve our daily lives. Thus, it is acknowledged that history not only benefits us in daily lives but also help us in other aspects.

In all,  I believe that study of history can help us in daily lives. But it is not enough. Other great benefit for people from study of history can also be taken into accoun

主要从思路上来说哈...
LZ貌似把历史的范围扩大了...把以往的科学之类的也算到历史的范围来...这个..我不太清楚是否可以哈
第一段,举的例子是那个人的书...那个人死了吗?...我感觉这里不太算是历史的范畴啊...这点请楼主指教哈
          另外,例子前面两个说理的句子感觉有点循环论证哈...
第二段,举的是中日的例子,就是说历史对于国家关系的影响
第三段,同样的问题...不知道动物的进化问题算不算历史哈...看来有必要看看历史的定义...待会查韦氏..
第四段,讲作者产生这种观点的原因...这是个很好的论点哈...
