May 30, 2007: 60-Second Science

If you are not a fan of cigarette, you probably hold your breath when you hurry to pass by smokers that hang up around stores building and restaurants. Smoking is banished outside, because a number of cities consider the possible health effect of second hand smoke. Ban smokers easy work places such an establishment. Turns out to hold breath is not such a bad idea, because scientists at University of Georgia had found sidewalk smokers can generate more pollution than passing cars. Aiken, Georgia, is a major college town. On the weekends, students pass should by should outside of bars and restaurant.  Since smoking is banned inside of such locations, one these kids part out of store. One of Georgia researchers wondered outdoor smoke could present health threat alone. So measure the carbon oxide level outside of numbers of bars and restaurant. Because gas is also from car exhaust, the researchers accounted number of cars and numbers of smokers. They found pollution come from the people not the tail pipes. So next time you stroll pass the banishment, take a deep breath, feel free to run.

I have to listen many times to get a dictation finished. How many times do you get yours done? Forerunner. Many of us admire your listening. How many hours do you spend every dat on listening? Do you have any tricks?
The speaking speed at 60-second science program is much faster than CNN news or any other TV program. It is also faster than talk show, let alone the pace a professor teaches at class. Since you can get 60 second science, you will have no problem in communication with Americans.
You must be a very telented and hard working person!

How to say 世界无烟日 in English? I found "national no smaking day", but it only half fits.
Smoking is one of three major causes for heart diseas. Now more and more Americans come to realization of it. As a result, the number of smokers has greatly reduce in last twenty years.
The other two causes for heart diseas are stress and lack of physical exercises.
Right now health clubs become the fastest growing businesses in the America.
