The speaker advocates that all nations should help to build up a global university to solve the persisting social problem. It’s tempting because dealing with such problem has become a worldwide difficulty. However, from my point of view, the speaker's assertion is only partially correct for the following reasons.

To begin with, with the development of the world, social problems such as environment pollution, energy crises, regional conflict and wars are increasingly becoming globalization. The students from different nations may have diverse solutions to these difficult problem四. Therefore, such a global university community will impel the communication in students, which may finally result in a more feasible scheme. Just as Derek Boke, American president of Harvard University, says: You can learn from everyone, the global university can provide the students such an opportunity to exchange their experience and notions to consummate their thoughts. They can find the shortages in their solutions or even a better means to solve the social problems. With the cooperation with each other, nations of the world can solve this problem in the end.

However, since the most persisting problems vary much in different country, the communication in the university may bring unexpected conflict. The background of each student, which involves religion, culture and ideology, is the main course of the collision. Taking account of the extreme ones, the social problem will unfortunately become a campus problem. Such problems are even existed in the colleges in the different counties. Maybe the way to solve such a problem is to separate the students by their ethnic which is the deviation of original intention and may lead to a misapprehension of racialism.

Additional, the global university that supported by all nations will, more or less, be affected by their supporters. In order to provide a platform for all the students, the university must try to avoid the political effect. However, the intention to benefit the countries themselves is uneasily impeded, which will result in a favor of some powerful country. Once the university is controlled by these nations, it will no longer be a global university and finally become an ordinary one.

In sum, original intention of global university is helpful and beneficial if the purpose can be put in practice. However, we still have to consider about some negative factors, such as the equal opportunity of all the nations to participate. As the development of history, the cooperation to solve the mutual problems is becoming significant. I believe that all the elites in the world can finally find an access to the enduring social problem.
