  Non-mainstream areas, including astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal etc, partly similar with the religion, try to analyze and explain many problems which cannot be solved by modern mainstream science at present, from a supernatural aspect. These research systems as a whole, takes an unneglectable role in people’s mental life, and it is a constituent of diversity social culture. But in my opinion, it makes no available sense as an impulse factor of the development in mankind’s productivity and progression of society.
  In some abstract subjects as personal relationship, destiny, supernatural system takes a dominant part, especially in the old time. Since science cannot give them reasonable presentations, people always choose to turn to a fortune-teller or astrologer, for whose commentary can appease one’s anxiety and tenseness, can fill up an ignorant cave, satisfy one’s needs, even it may be doubtful. In the old times, before a war the general always ask an astrologer for his fate and the result of the war. Even at a time these systems leads the whole society and the science is excluded, that is, the middle ages in Europe. Nowadays some tribes in African countries make a specific dance for a good harvest every year. The descended invocatory culture also exemplifies that such non-mainstream areas are important in former life.
  However, the development of science has decreased these non-mainstream systems’ influence significantly. With more and more knowledge, human can logically indicate lots of evolutive results with more or less linked relations between themselves and their circumstances. Science has already commenced its action in the traditional puzzled areas such as psychology, and thought forming progress. We have psychologist to ask for when we are confused, and we can forecast the weather with our technology, no longer with our knees.
  Although such supernatural conception indeed satisfies human needs in a limited degree, its reliability is under testing. Paying to much energy and attention to it is not advisable. If people rely on these unreal systems too much, they may neglect the importance of personal struggle and science technology research, for they easily lead to the false cognition that one can decide his destiny beforehand, by no means can they change their fates. That is, we shouldn’t accentuate the non-mainstream areas, these ideas can bring no answers we need, place our views on the mainstream science is just the right choice.
  In sum, non-mainstream subjects have a crucial function in society for their illuminations to the unknown areas from their own aspect regardless they are true or false, especially in the past time, however, nowadays increasing science technology is taking its absolute leadership gradually, and at the same time these non-mainstream areas decline, even may disappear in mankind’s stage sooner or later.
