   我和gg约到的是下午一点。十一点多点到永安里站。要提醒一下坐地铁的兄弟姐妹们，从A口出，往那个挂着黄底红字写着“通往秀水街”的牌子的通道走。我和gg就从A口左边另一个出口上了，结果到了马路另一边的建外大街上。回到正确那条路，上到最后一级台阶后，走出右手边的玻璃门，就是使馆前的大街了。左手边有一大堆西式快餐，SPR Coffee，SUBWAY什么的，我和gg在一个叫“老咖啡店”的意式餐厅吃的，但肉疼，一个意大利面一个牛腩饭一个咖啡花掉我们￥83 :funk: 。其实后来才知道原来使馆门口中信银行旁边就有一家看上去挺好的茶餐厅。签出来后还和gg说我俩就是在这个地方胡吃海塞，也花不掉￥83哦。

   在里面坐了会，十二点半我们进门。走进大厅时工作人员告诉我们一点的已经进去排队了，有点小慌，赶紧在门口交了￥10然后存包。
   存包处出来后就是武警第一次要看的护照的地方，翻到有名字那页。
   在签证的楼前面小等一会，第二次武警会再看一遍护照然后进屋。
   进屋是安检，本来没有问题，但我带的材料实在太多（回来后gg在他宿舍楼下体重秤称了之后我们才知道有20斤！:eek: 汗自己一下，导致今天所有人，包括vo见到我都说“带这么多东西！”），过完以后还掉了一本，让帮我检东西的中方工作人员看到我夹在里面的糖纸（再次汗，自小不改的陋习又一次被发现）。
   正式进入签证大厅，好多人！先是排队交给中秘材料，F1需要交的是DS156、157、158和I20以及护照、签证收据。自己打印的那个sevis回执页不需要交。
   交完材料后从中秘那里领到全白色牌子，队里第一个。交材料时前面那个TsingHua的dd和排在我后面的gg都领到不同颜色牌子。我们仨就成为三队的排头。等待按指纹。

   按完指纹，正式开始等待签证面试。今天下午我们在的时候开的是12、11、9、8、6五个窗口。六号窗口是一个留着很小胡子的vo，他问得最久，gg是他签过的。8号窗口是一个金发的女vo，她问得也很久，我是她签过的。9号也是女vo，好像是短褐发皮肤较黑。问得时间和8号差不多。11号是我站着等面谈时正对着的窗口，所以看得最久。很帅的一个大男孩样子的vo，笑起来有点小迷人（和gg讨论过，他也同意）。这是所有队里最快的，但他其实也蛮认真，我看到他后来有几个面谈的时间就很长。12号也是男vo，30岁左右，把自己收拾得很得体，他也面得很快。

   先说我在等待时观察的内容吧。总体过的人居多，我们那么多人看着，很少被拒的。F1如果全奖应该没有问题，自费如我，又是PhD，开始特别担心。但后来发现其实真的真的就是像上次Jennifer在北大讲座时说的那样，他们需要看到的钱（存款）就是只要cover第一年（我的就是，一分不多的cover），然后就是你或你的资助人有possibility和probability资助你后面几年的学习。探亲其实也有好多过的。有一对老大爷老大妈开始进去又出来说是照片不合格，但再进后很快就过了。商务我觉得也挺好。不过看到的几个被拒的里面好像商务的比例大点。
      等待中几个队都临近末尾，但看到6号窗口率先“清空”，给自己打了打气，做好鏖战的准备，突然中方工作人员叫到了gg的颜色！有点吃惊，但没有忘记给gg打气！紧接着11号窗口也结束，可是帅帅的vo一直在打字，并没有亮牌子。猛然间听到“白色”，是8号金发mm，心里掠过一丝不安，但很快平静。

Vo: Hi.
Me: Good Afternoon, Madam.
Vo: Are you a student or you……
Me: I’m student.
Vo: Are you working on your bachelor degree or a masters?
Me: I’m a master student of XXX University, major in XXX. And I will graduate this July.
Vo: So where are you going to study in the US?
Me: The University of XXX, in the Department of XXX, my specialty is XXX, same as my major now.
Vo: OK. Where are your parents live now?
Me: Fujian Province.
Vo: (Looked at me for about 5 seconds.) What do they do?
Me: My father is XXX. And my mother is XXX.
Vo: (Went on checking my I20) Who will pay for your study?
Me: My cousin and my father. My father has invested in a project which will earn him enough to support me by the end of this year. However, since I will study in the US before the end of this year, so my cousin in the US will pay for my study for the first year.
Vo: (Looked at me for a bit longer) Which state does your cousin live?
Me: (Smiled) XXX. She works as a XXX in XXX.
Vo: Can I see your father’s bank deposit?
Me: Ok. (Handed in my Asset list and bank deposit of my cousin)
Vo: (Looked at the Asset and the bank deposit and tax bill of my cousin) I need your father’s.
Me: As I mention before, my father has used his savings to invest in the project…
Vo: Wait a moment please. Do you mean your father don’t have a bank deposit.
Me: Yes. But I have the project contract with me, it can show where the ￥XXXX is now. And I also brought the certification of the Co. Limited where he share a partnership with his friend. Do you want to see them?(Lifted up the printed webpage of my father's company in front of her)
Vo: (Took a quick glance) I don’t want to. Can you tell me how many relatives of you live in the US? Like your aunt and uncle?
Me: Yes, my aunt and uncle.
Vo: How many aunt and uncle do you have in China?
Me: I have another four aunts and uncles live in China.
Vo: How many cousins do you have in the US?
Me: Two. One is the cousin who supports my study. The other is ……
Vo: Ok. Can I see your graduate transcripts?
Me: Yes. (Found out the envelope with both my undergraduate and graduate transcripts in it)Do you want me to open the seal for you?
Vo: No, I will do it. -------- Since your grades and schools are so good, why do you choose to study in the US instead of studying here?
Me: Well, the education program of my university where I have spent 7 years ranks the top 1 in China. But it focus on the XXX of Education. What I want to research is the XXX of educational problems of China, with specific concern for XXX. This is what I can get better training in the University of XXX in the US……
Vo: (Listening and fetched a pink note in her hand) OK, you can pass……(第一次出现听不清情况)
Me: (Happy) Am I pass (出现语法错误了，但我不管了！)
Vo: Yes. …… (第二次出现听不清，但我也不管了！)
Me: Thank you. Have a nice day.

   抱起一大坨东西，转身看见gg，他也刚过，哈。一起去大厅门口的桌边收拾东西，看见TsingHua的dd还有后来排我后面那个出去读本科的mm，都过了，真好！

其实vo还是很认真的，我的“硬伤”比较多，PhD自费，然后有两个资助人。一个还是美国的表姐。爸爸这边又没有银行存款。但只要自己先认真面对这些问题，好好准备，告诉vo你的情况，就没有真正的“硬伤”。我和gg还有身边很多同学朋友反复讨论这个问题，想办法用最简单的语句把我的情况尽快讲清楚，让vo明白就算有问题，也不会对你造成多大影响。

      谢谢gter给我的帮助，从考TG开始就获益良多。这一路走来，种种困难很多，但因为爸爸妈妈gg还有身边很多亲戚朋友的支持，终于一一克服。看到签证的帖子，关于PhD自费的真的很少。文科出国难，尤其教育学纯理论出国，我收到好几个AD，都没有奖。教授们也告诉我，第一年是几乎不给外国学生的。当时就想着只要签了，不管过没过一定发一份很详细的签经：）
