There are myriad myth phenomena in the world which modern science can not explain，at this background， the author claims that such nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology， fortune-telling，and psychic and paranormal pursuits play a vital role in society by satisfying human needs that are not addressed by mainstream science. Generally speaking, I concede the author's point of view.

To begin with, there are really lots of phenomena beyond the boundaries of science to be explained. For instance, on Easter Island  3800km off the west coast of Chile erected more than 1,000 huge blocks of stone statues, which are about 4-5M high and  weigh 20t,the largest one even weigh up to  90t .All of them were constructed in about 800-900. But around the island there is neither rich material nor large mount of manpower to build such a project. Why statute, how is the existence remains hitherto a mystery. Public keep long for questing the result of those mysteries, unfortunately, modern science can not provide us a reliable explanation. Due to the failure of mainstream areas, nonmainstream areas provide a good choice to satisfy public’s curiosity

Some people oppose nonmainstream because it can not be proved by experiment, in fact, that is dogmatic. On the one hand a theory which can not be proved by experiment provisionally is not  necessarily false.  Maybe the extant devices and knowledge is too scant to justify it. Take Einstein’s relative theory as an example, at beginning it used to be opposed by many people until the theory was proved explicitly by a series of experiment. On the other hand, although the issue of nonmainstream has not been proved by experiments, it fit close with lots of factual evidence in history.  In that sense it is hasty at best to deny nonmainstream areas.

Last but not the least, everyone might encounter indeterminate disasters or pleasant surprise for life, for instance, some babies dies as soon as be given birth, some people win a handsome prize in a lottery on one occasion. Commonsense informs us, some people's enjoying a fortunate destiny including living in a rich family, attending a good school, hunting a good job, marrying with the girl or boy they love. On contrary, some people's with a poor destiny encounter lots of disasters, lead a tragic life, especially some gifted persons fail to achieve a chance to make a good use of his or her gift and lead a miserable life. So people want to predict his or her destiny, unfortunately, mainstream areas of inquiry can not satisfy our needs, but nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal pursuits satisfies our needs to some degree, For instance, in statistical sense, although the relationship can hardly be proved by experiment. Ancient Indian found that the moon, governed human beings’ body cyclical rhythm and the heart trend, just like it rises tide and ebb tide. On the basis of this discovery, they created a kind of astronomical armomancy, which predict people’ destiny by people’s individuality, love tendency , manner and so on. Their theory can not be proved by experiments, but their prophecies are credible at least in statistical sense, which decrease people’s mental stress and worrysome.

To sum up, nonmainstream plays a significant role by full the blank of mainstream areas at many cases, to some degree, it serve as the supplement of mainstream areas of inquiry.

In adversity a passive will render us desperate. In fact that may be a temporary trouble, and if only we try our best, we can overcome them. Especially considering some cheats swindle money via nonmainstream, we must keep our eyes peeled.
To sum up, nonmainstream plays a significant role by full the blank of mainstream areas at many cases, to some degree, it serves as the supplement of mainstream areas of inquiry. Nevertheless, we can not believe their issue blindly.
