The speaker asserts that technology creates more problems than it solves and  may threaten or damage the quality of life. As I see it ,technology is something like a coin that has two sides----it can creates both prosperity and catastrophe to our human beings. Thus, we should consider the issue respectively.
To begin with, technology does solve a lot of questions for our society. It has gone into nearly  every respect of our life. For instance, computers can help researchers to analyze more sophisticated problems and calculate more statistic at the same time than before. It can provide  you with music,games,moves if you want to have a relax.Robots can carry on dangerous work for us such as exploring a bomb or tiring job such as assembling ingredients and housework.Health instruments and medicine help doctors to diagnosis and cure illness in that our lives are prolonged. Airplanes, trains make traveling safe ,fast and convenient. Technology is changing our life gradually. You cannot imagine a life without  technology.
Nevertheless, technology brings lots of problems at the same time and we suffered a lot from them.You must remermber the Chernobyl  Tragedy in the  April 1986 which deprived several thousand lives  by nuclear radiation. And the radiation found in the body of tens of thousands of survivals will harm them throughout the rest of their lives and their offsprings. The soil, water, atmosphere has been polluted forcing residents never to come back.It's also hard to erase  the tragedy  from the memory of the acquaintance of the victims.
Problems also come from the evil intention of the users of technology.Bombs can be useful in construction and explosion of mines,but bombs with highest  technology are often used to make an accurate attack and a great loss of the "enemy" .Colon technology was first invented to rebuild the organ which not functions well in the body.However,the use of it to copy the entire person creates a threat to our moral standards.
In sum ,technology in general solves lots of problems for human beings.The problems it creates are due to either carelessness or evil intentions of the users and they can be diminished to the lowest limit if we try our best to tutor and improve the moral standard or our society.Technology will solve more problems and improve the quality of life.
