The speaker asserts that a great many of species which have been distinguished from the earth disappeared because of the natural factor instead of being caused by people’s improper behaviors. Consequently, there is no responsibility for society to spare no effort to save endangered species. While I partially agree with the speaker’s assertion that there are really species extinguish due to the inadaptability to nature, nevertheless, human’s behaviors today have been badly threatening some animal’s survivals.

Undoubtedly, we have to admit that the biosphere is a world full of interspecies competition and interaction, which indicates a process of adaptability and adjustment. As everyone knows, the natural evolution is a process of living and existing by adjustability and competition. According to Darwin’s law of natural selection, if a species cannot suitable for the environment it locates, it will finally extinguish forever. When coming to this, I cannot find a better instance to show than the dinosaur, which appeared in the period of Jurassic thousands of years ago. With the intense and exquisite change of the geological, climatic, environmental characters on the earth, dinosaurs were no longer able to adapt the newly-generated environment because of their giant bodies and inflexible sense, consequently they extinguished for ever, which left plenty of imagines and fantasy to people living present.

However, humans should not ignore the fact that in modern time, more and more species are in danger not because of natural selection but as a result of human behaviors. As the development of industry and technology, numerous social and environmental problems and disasters come out at the same time. Excessive disafforestation has results in many birds and animals which set down on trees as homes in the forest are homeless. Contamination of toxic compounds and metal elementary of streaks and rivers, has led plenty of fishes, crabs and other species living in rivers and oceans disappear forever. Excessive hunting of some cherished and valuable wild animals such as tigers, deer, monkeys, has left people without any chance to see those species alive any more. How can humans escape from the responsibility for so many species disappearance?

Ecology is most important for the earth, where all humans live and depend on, as well as all other species. As the diversity of species benefits human very much in great genetic and environmental values, it is necessary and responsible for humans to save species which are endangers, in case that they will finally have the same destiny as those have extinguished. Without the photosynthesis of green plants, people cannot breathe any more because the lack of oxygen and the excess of dioxide carbon. Without the discompose activity by microorganisms, the world would be filled with dead bodies and massive trash. Without some species which seem even the commonest, people will lose the normal life as there is no source to use. Therefore, it is very important and necessary for humans to protect species especially those are endangered.

As I have demonstrated above, the whole word is a big family which needs every member to coexist with each other compatibly. The word “Ecology” is derived from Greek ECO, which represents the meaning of family and dwelling, human should regard every species as their families and protect them inevitably.
