In modern society, science and society has made a progress, as a result, the standard of human being's life has improved greatly, however, people confront a series of problems even more complex and challenging than those faced by their predecessors.


In the first place, admittedly, the development of science and technology has improved the standard of human life. For example, the invention of penicillin has saved numerous people from fatal disease. Unfortunately, the development of technology and science has plagued even jeopardize the survival of ethics human beings. One the one hand, the development of science and technology sometimes conflict the ethic of human beings. For instance, as the development of cloning technology, it is possible to clone human, which will challenge the ethics of human beings. On the other hand, the development of science and technology create the powerful arm to destroy overall human beings. For instance, the invention of atom bomb brought along great disaster and potential threat to human beings’ survival. Undoubtedly, the foregoing ticklers were not conflicted by our predecessors.


In the second place, since the new waterway was opened up, the interaction among each nation has increased greatly, especially, nowadays, globalization has become a irreversible trend. Globalization accelerate economic development and the culture exchange. Nevertheless, it engenders the conflict between different countries, different cultures. For example, the development of international trade, a double-edged sword , on the one hand improves the efficiency of economy, on the other hand plays a large impact to the declining industry in some countries, so the workers in those industries will inevitably lose their jobs. On the other hand, globalization jeopardizes the survival of some cultures. For example, in Canada many nationalists maintain that Canadian culture is too fragile to American culture imperialism. So Canada has long adopted some restrictions on the sales of American publication and textbooks. Otherwise, the culture nationalists feared that American magazines such as Sports Illustrated, Time and Business Week could soon deprive Canadians’ ability to read themselves in Maclean’s  and Canadian Business. Canadan faces the impact from globalization, let alone those little countries.


In the third place, the development of science and society fails to eliminate the greediness, selfishness and prejudice of human being which continues over the span of human history. Human beings have experienced the tragedy of two world wars, which should have given us a lesson. Nevertheless, many people fail to take inspiration from the disasters. The empirical evidence supporting this position is overwhelming, yet you need look no further than the pertinent   partial armed conflicts in the world which engender chaos and casualties. What’s more the former Prime minister of Japan paid homage to   Yasukuni Shrine every year in order to distort the history and beautify war. Without eliminate greediness, selfishness and prejudice of human being, the millennium is only an illusion.


To sum up, scrutinizing the nature of the ticklers contemporarypeople faced, at least to some degree, they are more complex and challenging than those faced by our predecessors.
