TOPIC: ISSUE36 - "The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries."

The speaker asserts that the greatness of individuals only can be decided by the person who lives in the future, not the contemporaries. Although somebody acquires the awards and honor in their living time for their brilliant outcome, I strongly agree the speaker that the greatness would only be really decided by the people who live after them and can value it in length and breadth.

The fact I mentioned above that many individuals received awards and repute for their brilliant outcome and outstanding behavior. However, we could not treat this action as an approach that people recognize not the unsurpassable position in contemporary, but the greatness of individuals. Eventually, when they academics and society value whether these individuals could be awarded is depend on that if he is the top class in this world. Such as the Oscar Prize, the most important prize in movie field, the best performance for the director is not meaning we already know the far-reaching influence from his movie but his movie is the best one in this year.

However, the greatness of individuals would affect the human society in many years even many centuries. The contemporaries with the narrow view and limited technology could not understand and anticipate the real greatness. I do not want to mention the old physician and chemist, most their theory and formula cause the important and astounding effect in the centuries after their death, and the old astronomer and biologist, most of their guess and paper induce the development of modern science. I just take philosophy as an example, because we know that almost any kind of philosophy guess and theory would be critic after their presenting their selves, and at the same time, their greatness is also be found with these various critics. That's meaning, more times there are disputed, the more greatness there are found in their selves. Yet, which famous philosopher would have a chance to live with this honor for ever and receive this increased honor forever.

More over, the best one to measure greatness is to use it in our life, whenever it would be used, the greatness would be both real recognized by people living centuries later. From two aspects based on when it will be used and perform their value I would like to mention. Firstly, the people have the chance to use it all function in the same century, like the steam engine, however, the greatness from it is the fuse of revolution of industry not the steam engine train or the steam engine automobile. Secondly, the people only have the chance to use it in the future, like the powder rocket which turn to the missile in modern war invented by the India and English man since the powder invented by Chinese many years later. Both these two greatness could only be decided by using of later generations.

In conclusion, while the scientist or the other elites receive various awards from different countries and academics, they could not wish that the greatness of their performance or their outcome be recognized as the one existed in their selves. Only after many years even many centuries proof-test, the real merits would be found by the posterities. However, our elites can not be discouragement as a result of this look unfairly treatment from the restriction of the development itself, whatever we do, the valve more or less would be know by our contemporaries.

Although somebody acquires the awards and honor in their living time for their brilliant outcome, I strongly agree with the speaker that the greatness would only be really decided by the people who live after them and can value it in length and breadth. (this sentence doesn't make any sense to me, since some people do acquire awards when they are alive, how can the greatness only be decided by people who live after them? i suggest you summarize your points which are going to be discussed in your following paragraphs here)

The fact I mentioned above (i didn't see any real fact you mentioned above) that many individuals received awards and repute for their brilliant outcome (work) and outstanding behavior. However, we could not treat this action as an approach that people recognize not the unsurpassable position in contemporary, but the greatness of individuals (doesn't make sense, i can't understand your point). Eventually, when they (their) academics and society value (evaluate or decide) whether these individuals could be awarded is depend on (depends on their status in this world) that if he is the top class in this world. Such as the Oscar Prize, the most important prize in movie field, the best performance for the director is not meaning (doesn't mean that )we already know the far-reaching influence from his movie but his movie is the best one in this year. (i guess your point in this paragraph is that individuals who receive high praises are evaluated as salient among their counterparts within certain fields, without considering their long term effects.)

I just take philosophy as an example, because we know that almost any kind of philosophy guess and theory would be critic (criticized) after their presenting their selves (presentating), and at the same time, (by doing so) their greatness is also be found with these various critics. That's meaning (That means), more times there are disputed, the more greatness there are found in their selves. Yet, which famous philosopher would have a chance to live with this honor for ever and receive this increased honor forever.?

Although somebody acquires the awards and honor in their living time for their brilliant outcome, I strongly agree with the speaker that the greatness would only be really decided by the people who live after them, because the awards to these so-called greatness issuesd by contemporary only means the confirmation that these elite is salient among the others, however the repute to the same greatness issued by the later generations give the suitable evaluation of greatness in length and breadth not only the status of this elite and research.

The fact that many individuals received awards and repute for their brilliant work and outstanding behavior we already have sufficient to support it. However, we could not treat this affair as that people recognize not their unsurpassable status among contemporary, but the greatness of individuals in the long term. Eventually, when their academics and society  evaluate  whether these individuals could be awarded is depends on their status in this world that if he is the top class in this world.
