Have we not learned how to socialize children who determined the destiny of society as the author said in this statement? I disagree that.

What is better society, there has not been a wide accepted definition, in my opinion, a better society is a society in which every individual was well-round. On the one hand socialization is significant to individuals’ psychological health and physical health. World health organization even defines incapability to fit society as a disease which is as serious as physical disease. In that sense, education system can not immerse too much effort into the socialization of children. On the other hand, socialization is important for children to succeed in career in the future. In modern society, if only a person can fit society, can he or she succeed in more and more fierce competition. In that sense, education system can not immerse too much effort into the socialization of children.

However, in general, America has do well in the socialization of children. In America, most students in high school was encouraged to do part-time job to support themselves. Not only the children in working- class  family and middle class family but also those in rich family was encouraged to do part-time jobs. For instance, Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, encouraged his children to sell papers, wash cars to support themselves. Though those activities, children are socialized effectively. Moreover, children are not only encouraged to undertake part-time jobs to support themselves, but also are encouraged to do some voluntary jobs as volunteers. Many students spend some hours to serve others in committee every week. In the progress, those young  volunteers achieve opportunities to communicate with people in different hierarchy, share their particular ideas, learned much knowledge about real society.

Of course, our job is far not perfect, society is developing fast, we must make effort continuously to socialize children.  As the development of society,  the scale of family become smaller and smaller, as a result, many children have no partner to play games in family. As a result, chose children fail to learn share with others, tolerate others, and get along well with each other. That becomes a challenging issue to the education system. We must pay more attention to those children and try our best to socialize them.
In sum, the viewpoint that we have not learned how to socialize children is wrong, because it ignores our effort to socialize children. However, as the development of society, we must immerse more effort to socialize children.
