提纲:
1general knowledge告诉我们没有任何事情比得上脚踏实地的踩在一个陌生世界的土地上更令人兴奋了。电视宣传,纪录片,网络等各种宣传手段只能让我们更加渴望外出旅游。
2。媒体的发达,尤其是近年网络的普及popularization,使得旅游变得更加方便,Google Earthbook airplaneticket, information of sceneries…..
3。归根结底,现代的媒体都是为了产业而服务的,如果说:政治因为传播才成为政治,那么我可以用同样的方式理解:产业因为广告才成为产业。任何现代媒体的背景都是有目的的,它们的作用都是让你:做什么,或者不做什么。
4。当然,我们也可以梦想,技术的发展会让我们有一天不用挪动屁股就可以在家中感受夏威夷的海风,紫禁城的威严,曼哈顿的繁荣,伦敦的绅士风度,金字塔的神秘。有一项技术会让我们享受到和旅游同样的快乐,那么也很好,这些地球上的美景,再不会有垃圾出现了。

When asked about whether the mass media will finallyterminate the traditional tourism in a near future, some people consider thatwith the devastating hurricane blowed by modern media has merely finishedconventional transmitting method we have such as tape, cd, newspapers, andbooks. In my opinion, however, in the sphere of tourism, it's an absurdity tosome extent.

The general knowledge tells us, it is nothing can becomparable to standing on your own feet in a foreign land, smelling thefragrance from the flowers you have seen in the cyclopedia, talking to thepeople with different complexion using gesture and drawing. However, who, ormaybe I should say, what stimulate us to made such a wonderful dream when weinferring these entire nice scene? Clearly, it is the power of mass mediapulling us to this fantastic view. For instance, both the famous Americanprogram Discovery and National Geography, and the countless web sites ininternet are all tempting us to a make a tour. The function of the mass mediaat present is to make you there, but not to leave you here.

Besides, the development in recent year in many domains,especially the popularization of internet all over the world, offered aconsiderable plain to provoke the progress, and contribute great convenience inthe field of tourism. It is common that booking airplane, or ship tickets, orhotel in the internet. Comparing with the traditional method: make a phonecall, internet have incomparable superiority for many factors as easilycomparing the price between Air Lines, no matter Japan Air Lines or AmericanAirline, and also asking the departure time in each line, and the mostsignificant factor that people preferring best: it never get off work.Furthermore, with the publication of new wizardly internet-based softwareGoogle Earth, the eye reach of the mass have being considerably enlarged. Itprovides people to see every dark corner all over the world, including the roofof your home of course, without any payment, just some seconds.

When we get to this point, never the less, just imagine whythe mass media advertising the most beauteous sceneries inexhaustible andwhispering the word of mysterious Egyptian spell? The answer of fact is to makeyou there. The tourism is not only becoming the best solution to increase theforeign currency reserve which including plenty merit like less pollution,highly profitable and less in payout, publicize the national civilization ofitself and even more, and also becoming one of the most valuable industry inmany countries. There is a saying: It is the transmitting made the politics,thus, we should say: It is the advertising made the industries. The commonsense tells us there must be an purpose at the back of the behavior, in mystatement, which means the purpose of these programs, or web sites, ormagazines have an common aim: to make you there, and your family and you cash.

In conclusion, due to analysis and reasons that I havementioned above, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and becomemore persuasive thaw any of them, we may safely reach the consequence that thefunction of the mass media which including all above I have told about is tostimulating the people to do more tourism but stop it. I assure that in a farfuture, maybe half a century of even more, with the development of high-tech,we could easily enjoy all of entertainment the tourism could do at home,without moving a single step and a single word. Which is not bad anyway, atleast there is no pollution problem to disturbing both historian andenvironmentalist.

1.        首先卖得最好不能代表能取得最大的利润,很可能是因为这五种国内奶酪价格便宜,或者有本地举办的促销活动带动了销售量的上升。并且仅仅一年的销量也不能证明这种销售势头会长期持续。
2.        其次,去年的销售也只能代表wc奶酪销量较好,而全国范围内奶酪的品种,产地非常多,并没有资料表示国内奶酪在整体平均销售额上能超过进口奶酪。并且文中提到的“Cheese of the world”杂志,我们并不知道此杂志在领域的权威性,甚至其主要针对的读者也不甚明了,可能是厨师,饮食研究人员,而不一定是消费者。
3.       假定上述都能带来利润的上涨,文中提出的用限制库存来提高利润的方法也缺乏根据,提高利润的方法很多,并且在很多有利条件下,增加本地奶酪宣传等很多商业行为都能带来利润,而不应单一拘泥

TOPIC: ARGUMENT65 - The following appeared in a memo fromthe president of a chain of cheese stores located throughout the United States.

"For many years all the stores in our chain havestocked a wide variety of both domestic and imported cheeses. Last year,however, the five best-selling cheeses at our newest store were all domesticcheddar cheeses from Wisconsin.Furthermore, a recent survey by Cheeses of the World magazine indicates anincreasing preference for domestic cheeses among its subscribers. Since ourcompany can reduce expenses by limiting inventory, the best way to improveprofits in all of our stores is to discontinue stocking many of our varietiesof imported cheese and concentrate primarily on domestic cheeses."

In this argument the author draw a conclusion that in orderto improve profits in our stores, the best way is to stop stocking varieties ofimported cheese and sell domestic cheeses mostly. To support his conclusion, hegive several surveys and some information. I found these evidences are somewhatconvincing at the first glance. But after further examination, however, thegroundless of this passage will be given below.

In the first place, the arguer gives information that ourfive best-selling cheeses are domestic cheese and our stores will make profitby which. However, he ignore some important things: best-selling do not equalto "best-profit", we can not get any information from the passagethat if the five best-selling cheeses have profit space, and we can suppose thereason that they are cheaper than imported cheeses. Price is one of the mostsignificant points decided the selling we have to admit. Also, even it couldbring somewhat profit, more or less, may be some advertisements are being donebefore selling, its selling situation is just temporarily. Without theseinformation, we cannot reach to the point that the domestic cheeses will makebest profits or they will sell well in the future.

In the second place, the location of the newest store andthe specie of cheese also hardly weaken the topic. Firstly, the best-sellingsituation occurred in our newest store cannot prove that it will be enlarged tocountrywide stores. Different residents in different places have differenttaste in different cheeses, that sound somewhat funny in sentence but it istrue. Without a survey to the countrywide residents' taste of cheeses, wecannot ensure that domestic cheddar cheeses will be accepted in other stores.Cursory action will not bring us profit. It is quite terrible as yet but it'snot the end.

Let's suppose that the domestic cheeses is getting morepopular in nation and its selling goes better and the profit space increased(that also means the president of stores is too bloody lucky!). The way toincrease profit-concentrate primarily on domestic cheeses is not the best. Theauthor gives not a single word that the imported cheeses sell bad and lack ofprofit. Our final goal: more and more and much more PROFIT!! Why we have tostop stocking imported cheese if they also sell good? We can keep the importedcheese selling and increase the domestic cheese stocking at one time especiallyon the condition that there is no evidence shows that the overall profit fromimported cheeses is more than (or just equal to ) the domestic cheeses. If the authorwants to get best profit, he (or she) has to get more data and do somecontrast.

To sum up, this argument is not persuasive as it stands.Before we accept the conclusion, the arguer must provide evidences in all-aboveI have pointed. To solidity the argument, the arguer would have to provide moreevidence concerning a contrast based on the profit of both domestic andimported cheeses and a nationwide survey to the taste of the residents andmodify the plan. Therefore, if the statement had included the given factorsmentioned above, the argument would have become more acceptable.

我自己的语言很烂就主要看你的思路了,最后的结论和你先前讨论的好象有点偏离,特别是最后一句好象是说旅游会消失吗,看的很快你在看看,如果是这个意思,不太合适吧.

A我还没有开始看就谈谈我的理解吧,最新店的销售好只是特殊情况,受特定环境影响our newest store,
Cheeses of the World magazine调查对象有可能是外国人啊,对于他们的本国产品不就是外国产品吗,也不一定是我们的顾客群.
其次就是收益和成本的问题了,最后一点是通的很多都可以通用,
