When we go home at night ,and light our lamps ,we may not imagine tremendous failures Edison experienced before Edison found tungsten as filament ,while we listen to melodious Scherzo No .2 of Chopin ,we could not imagine innumerable improvement traces on his manuscript ,and nor do we imagine tremendous excises and failures of Leonardo when we appreciate his famous Monalisha .I do agree with speaker's assertion that 'mistake' would be the only access to discovery and progress.

First of all , when it come to individual level , we may find every people have to experience to attain the objective . as a little baby , each one must fall down again and again before he or she learns how to walk ,when he or she grows up , he or she also get to overcome many hardships and gain experiences from failures on the road to success . Curie ,for example, spent nearly four years and did enormous experiments ,which  consumed countless slag ,to attest her assumption of the existence of a new material , after innumerable failures and mistakes, finally she found that new matter-Ra which contributed to her Nobel Prize. according to above analysis ,obviously , we could conclude that the only acess for individuals to discovery or progress is withdrawing mistakes.

The societal level could be similar to individuals level .discoveries and innovations in every realm all lie largely in former 'mistakes' and experiences. in the field of science , which usually involves lots theories ,this principle plays a paramount role . take theroies of vaccum as an example .in 17 century , scientists advocated that vacuum is replete with ether, which was needed during the spread of ray, however ,200 years later , Einstein's special relativity appeared and pointed out this prevailing recognition was mistaken -vacuum owned nothing .yet to the modern theory-quantum theory- nowadays ,scientists find that all former two recognitions are mistakes in the sense ,there are ceaseless generation and subsequent annihilation of virtual particle in vacuum , it is obviously that former so-called 'mistakes' are necessary for physics to advance to this new theory .when it comes to the field of politics , an typical cases goes that : when Chinese attained its success in liberation war ,it closed door to the world holding the reason that war still was not over ,accordingly , this mistake in judgment of International circumstance resulted in the subsequent "culture Revolution, during which enormous innocent people died .after that disaster ,China decided to adopt the famous” reforms and opening-up" ,which might be the crucial reason attributable to China's economical achievements now . Imagined that if without the mistakes-"culture Revolution"- and  wrong judgments before, how come the valid strategy which forms an impulse to the progress of China ?

In conclusion , no matter individuals or society ,their developments all conform to a common principle- mistake would be the only access to discoveries and progress.
