1．Video camera 是通过图像记录的，对一些精彩的运动场面（moving highlight）的记录有好的效果。
美丽的瀑布从悬崖倾斜而下（Beautiful waterfalls falls from the steep stiffs ），非洲大草原上精彩的动物打斗场面（wonderful animal fighting scenes in the African prairie），神奇美妙的海底世界。(Magical beauty of the underwater world.) 人类首次登月后留下的意义非凡的脚印（the extraordinary significance of footprints which is left after Human first successful landing on the moon）为纪念反法西斯战争胜利60周年在莫斯科红场盛大的阅兵场面（In order to Memorial

2. 但Video camera 的普及率较低，而且价格昂贵，使用麻烦。拍摄出来的图像效果
   受多种条件制约（confine），很可能会失真（distortion）。而且保存麻烦，查阅时还需其他设备。
3．但是当涉及法律文件（Legal documents ），大量数据，一些抽象事物（Abstract things）的记录时，written records就比video camera好的多。特别是对世界名著（immortal Masterpiece ）的阅读，我们能体会到作者华丽的词藻(euphuistic words)，准确传神的用词(Accurate and vivid terms )，更易融入到作者所创作的气氛(ambience)中，而拍成电影后效果就很差了。
4．我们应该将两种手段相结合，发挥各自的优势，使得记录最有效。
  对犯罪事件的记录，用video camera可以得到最直接，最真实的记录，但同时还需用
written records记录一些具体的数据，还有对案件调查时的笔录（notes），犯罪嫌疑人（Crime suspects）的口供（affidavit）的记录。

In the author's view, he asserts that the video camera has become a more important form
of documentation than written record because of its accurate and convincing record of
contemporary .In my opinion, I agree partly with the author's view. It is true that the video
camera has became one of the useful tools of documentation, however, the written records remains
its original crucial status which also has a significant influence on our daily lives.
To begin with, I must definitely admit that the video cameras is of great use in many ways,
especially for recording the moving highlight .We must be attractive by the exotic natural
scenes such as the fall of the beautiful waterfalls from the steep stiffs, the animals’pierce
fighting spectacle in the African prairie and the magical beauty of the underwater world. We
must also have a great impression on the important moments in human history such as the extraordinarily
significant footprints which was left after human first successful landing on the moon and the grand
parade in the Moscow's Red Square for memorizing victory 60 years ago in the war against fascism. Only
through the video camera's accurate record, could all the valuable things mentioned above show their
whole value entirely.
On the other hand, some shortcomings of the video camera must be taken into account. The video camera
is not widely used for its prohibitive price and its lack of convenience. The quality of the video is
attributable to many other factors such the weather ,temperature and light ,most of which can not be
determined by us. Moreover, the distortion of the video also happens frequently so that the accuracy
and the authenticity of the record can not be ensured. What is worse, when we want to use the record
to consult something ,we must need some special and expensive instruments to play the video taken by
the video camera. Surly, the disadvantages of the video camera confines its further worldwide use and
popularity.
Secondly, the written record has a lot of merits when it comes to the legal documents, the statistical
records and some abstract things. It is hard to record our history with endless important times and hundreds
of thousands names by video camera effectively .It is also entirely unrealistic to record the complex and
sudden changing economy of our society by the video camera. As is known to all, many eminent authors leave
us lots of immortal masterpiece from which we can learn a lot .We will realize the author's euphuistic words,
admire for their accurate and vivid terms and involve into the author's ambience created by their own. However,
the movies and TV shows ,which are adapted from the masterpiece ,lose most of the main invaluable features
adorned by our readers. Thus, the written record 's function of documentation can not be neglected by us.
Thirdly ,in order to make records effectively and accurately ,we should combine the two useful forms. Turing
to the crime for example, the video camera can record the whole progress of the crime action which can be served
as a most vital evidence to justify the guilty of the crime suspects. But some other things about the crime must
be also recorded such as the notes written down during the investigation ,the affidavit of the crime suspects and
the witness, and the words of the people who take part in the trials. Only thorough the two tools' joint, can the
documentation be more real and more convincing.
To sum up, I should concede the video camera can serve as to a useful form of documentation, but the author
overstates its function and underestimate the effect of the written words. Both of them will play an crucial
role in our daily lives in the long run.
