Some people think that governments should spend as much money as possible on developing or buying computer technology. Other people disagree and think that this money should be spent on more basic needs. Which one of these opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

As the fast development of the science and technology, computer places a more and more important role in improving of individual, city, even our country. But for me, it is not reasonable for governments to spend all money in buying computer technology. I think before the basic needs are met, government should pay this money to some basic needs.

To begin with, computers could not be used well, if governments spend as much as possible only on it and ignore the developing of basic education needs. This is because basic knowledge is the precondition of using the computers, which could be delayed by poor quality of education. All too often we know that the use of computers should be improved by teaching and training of special technology. To exert the whole benefit of computers, people should have the skills of using software, editing programs, preventing the computers away from virtues, and even mending computers. Without these skills, computers are nothing but some combines of several parts.

In addition, only focusing on the developing and buying computer technology could be harmful to reigning of the government. If the governments spend little money on basic needs so that the basic life of people can not be guaranteed, hard life could lead people to fight against the government. In this case, the government is possible to loss the next election. This is proved by numerous examples of fail governments in the history. Throughout the whole history of human beings, every failure of government is related to the neglect of basic life of residents.

Having done well in improving people’s basic life, government could increase their expend on computers, which could enhance their development more quickly. And on the other hand, people whose basic needs have been meet will appraise this investment by government.
