TOPIC: ISSUE212 - "If a goal is worthy, then any means taken to attain it is justifiable."

The speaker claims that to attain a worthy goal , any means taken to attain it would be justifiable , it seems reasonable at first glance , however , in my view, whether the means to attain the goal is justifiable or not pramrily depeneds on the definition of "worthy".
If "worthy " just involve some benefits ---especial material interests , then "any means  is justifiable"  would lose my support . take , sportman , as an example , we always appreciate competition spirits of sport fighters and also get inspired by their efforts . however , if some sportmen who want to win the game eagerly even regardless of means ,then the results could be like some scandles these years : some famous sporters eat special drugs which could make them excited and help achieve a better record during the match . would we appreciate these kinds of behavior to be jusifiable? certainly not , when it comes to the societial level , the conclusion could be still applicable , we know that nearly 400 years ago , England was the most power country worldwide ,and it established enormous colonies from which England could gain a myrid of profits and resource based on the disaster of local country .although to England ,its goal is "worthy" by the definition of "maximize benefits" ,however , history and society would judge it as unfair invading and crual grabing ,which could be the opposite of justifiable means .from above analysis, we could infer that if a goal is worthy just based on  money ,benefits ,and something like that ,then "any access to goals" is apt to go on a unjustifiable road .

Nevertheless, if the definition of "Worthy" refers to justice, love ,loyalty ,and some kind aspects of humanity , then no matter what means it take to attain the goal , even have a potential for harm to benefits , the approach would be justifiable . one compelling example goes that : save private Ryan ,although the story is famous for according film , derives from a anthentic story during the World War 2 in Omaha Beachhead . a solider,who could be the only survival of a four-children owning family, was missing during the war , to release the pain of his family , 8 soliders were sent to save him . however ,at last only one of them survival .is this decison jusitfiable?although a handful of people might laugh at this seemed "unjusitfiable" decision , in fact nearly all the people in the world are moved by this brave , just ,great action , and give their high praise simultaneously  because they know that these kinds of spirits and consciences are more important than life , money , benefits  , even our human species own its survival in thousands of years to them .so if a goal is to sparking the humanity , no matter what we do to attain the goal would be justifiable .

In sum , I think the evaluation to the means taken to attain the objective depends a lot on the goal itself ,if the goal just focus on money and benefits and so on ,then we need moral regulation to constrain them ,but if the goal serve to strenghten people's belif of kindness of humanity ,then any access to goal would be justifiable .

手段是否合理主要看值得的如何定义。

拯救瑞恩的例子蛮符合老美的价值观的。
