1、电视的优点，提供了一个媒体资源，而且可以获得直观的视觉感受。举例。。。
2、书本的优越性：
2-1 文字可以系统的阐述逻辑关系。举例：专家通过出书而非电视来发表自己的著作，参考者也是
      通过书籍获取帮助
2-2 书本的便携性可以使得人们随时随地获取知识；
2-3 阅读书本是一个思维锻炼的过程，而非电视被动的接受
3、电视的缺点，以盈利为目的播放广告等。。。

Though we have come into the age of television and learn a lot through television, the importance of reading books
is not impaired compared to once before and what we can learn from books will never be sufficiently got from television.

Admittedly, with the advance of technology, we are led to a world with more options to get information and knowledge, and television is one of the important media channels, which provides vivid scenes for people to get direct optical contact. Due to television, we are able to observe how wildlife competes for survival in harsh environment through Geography programs, to cheer at home for our supported team winning a goal far away
from the playground, to get latest news on the presidency selection, etc. Television serves as an entertainment style as well as a quick link to the world.

However, the book has several superior traits which will never be easily substituted by television.

In the form of writing, the book allows people to elaborate detailed and accurate explanation on various academic fields and sophistic theories in logic words with data and diagrams. That’s why it is a normally practiced way for the scholars to publish their works in books instead of making TV programs. Consequently, for the people who want to refer to the works, the main channel is the book. For instance, I will certainly borrow
related books from library in order to finish my graduation paper other than considering television for help.

Also, books are portable, which enable us to read them whenever and wherever we wish. Television is a heavy toy to move position, and the programs are broadcasted in a scheduled time for limited times. In this case, if we can’t catch the meaning quite well or miss some content on TV, we will probably lose the chance to figure it out forever; however, for books, we won’t have such worries. We can go through books as many
times either in bed or on plane, in the morning or midnight.

Additionally, reading book is a kind of cultivation for thinking and analysis, as it is a subjective way of learning things. Our brain functions actively to get the meaning and logic between the lines in books. But in the state of watching television, we are mainly passive viewers sitting leisurely in a sofa, which contributes little to improve our thinking or analyzing ability.

Television has its inner shortcomings as well. As most of the TV stations are run for profits, lots of commercials which have less meaning for our progress are presented to us. They broadcast bloody violence TV programs in regardless of the harmful influences on the young generation.
So as a whole, I admit there are some advantages of television and serves certain functions well, but books continue to be our most important source to get knowledge and efficient way to improve ourselves.
