TOPIC: ARGUMENT180 - The following is a recommendation from the personnel director to the president of Acme Publishing Company.

"Many other companies have recently stated that having their employees take the Easy Read Speed-Reading Course has greatly improved productivity. One graduate of the course was able to read a five-hundred-page report in only two hours; another graduate rose from an assistant manager to vice president of the company in under a year. Obviously, the faster you can read, the more information you can absorb in a single workday. Moreover, Easy Read costs only $500 per employee-a small price to pay when you consider the benefits to Acme. Included in this fee is a three-week seminar in Spruce City and a lifelong subscription to the Easy Read newsletter. Clearly, Acme would benefit greatly by requiring all of our employees to take the Easy Read course."
WORDS: 426          TIME: 上午 12:30:00          DATE: 2007-8-9

In the argument above , the arguer tries to convince us that all of our employees would benefits a lot from Easy Read , however, before put the staff on the notice of this advise , following fallacies should be ruled out at first .

First of all , the arguer unfairly assumes that all of his employees needs Speed-Reading Course , it is highly possible that just some staffs who usually engage in dealing with words needs this improvement , such as editors, journalists ,and secretaries . other workers who are responsible for non-word-involve works could learn little from this kind of course .

Secondly , to illustrate the effects of Speed-reading Course , the arguer cites two examples of graduates , however , all of them could lend little support to arguer's conclusion . although one graduate could read five-hundred-page report in two hours may come true, without knowing the exact information ,such as the quality of reading, his reading ability before accepting this course . we could not conclude that course affords him this ability , it is highly possible that although he finish reading in two hours , but rarely contents he could remember ,or he is talented in reading , before he anticipates this course , he could achieve this objective already ,and so as the same the other graduate .

Finally , the arguer unfairly assumes that it will be applicable to send employees to this course .from the argument we know that ,if the employees want to engage in this course , they have to spend 3 weeks in Spruce City , however, there may be some factors contribute to the absence of employees in this 3 weeks course  , such as distances from working place , work requirements and so on . for example ,common sense tell us , editors could be the core figures in a publishing company , without them , all the business would drop , it is highly possible that there are only few editors in the company , if they are sent to the course , nobody would deal with their works , even just some of them engage in the course in turn , we could not evaluate the according profits lose during their course period . in addition, if add this cost with 500 dollars , taking the course will be a not worthy choice.

In conclusion , only the arguer could provide more evidences to convince us Speed-Reading Course is needed by all his employees ,and the benefits it brings will outweigh the cost- include both money and absence-cost , the conclusion could be persuasive.

In the argument above , the arguer tries to convince us that all of our employees would benefits a lot from Easy Read , however, before put the staff on the notice of this advise , following fallacies should be ruled out at first .(开头简洁,挺好的)

Secondly , to illustrate the effects of Speed-reading Course , the arguer cites two examples of graduates , however , all of them could lend little support to arguer's conclusion . although one graduate could read five-hundred-page report in two hours may come true(实现??这个词组的意思), without knowing the exact information ,such as the quality of reading, his reading ability before accepting this course . we could not conclude that course affords him this ability , it is highly possible that although he finish reading in two hours , but rarely contents he could remember ,or he is talented in reading , before he anticipates this course , he could achieve this objective already ,and so as the same the other graduate(应该把第二个人的情况也单独说,有必要的,而且我觉得,一二段应该换换顺序,先说课程的有效性,再说适用性,这是一个让步关系) .

Finally , the arguer unfairly assumes that it will be applicable to send employees to this course .from the argument we know that ,if the employees want to engage in this course , they have to spend 3 weeks in Spruce City , however, there may be some factors contribute to the absence of employees in this 3 weeks course  , such as distances from working place , work requirements and so on . for example ,common sense tell us , editors could be the core figures in a publishing company , without them , all the business would drop , it is highly possible that there are only few editors in the company , if they are sent to the course , nobody would deal with their works , even just some of them engage in the course in turn , we could not evaluate the according profits lose during their course period . in addition, if add this cost with 500 dollars , taking the course will be a not worthy choice(语序错了).

In conclusion , only the arguer could provide more evidences to convince us Speed-Reading Course is needed by all his employees ,and the benefits it brings will outweigh the cost- include both money and absence-cost , the conclusion could be persuasive.

First of all , the arguer unfairly assumes that allof his employees needs Speed-Reading Course , it is highly possible that justsome staffs who usually engage in dealing with words needs this improvement ,such as editors, journalists ,and secretaries . other workers who areresponsible for non-word-involve works could learn little from this kind ofcourse .作为body1,这个写得太少了。

Secondly , to illustrate the effects of Speed-readingCourse , the arguer cites two examples of graduates , however , all of themcould lend little support to arguer's conclusion . although one graduate couldread five-hundred-page report in two hours may cometrue(中文式表达), without knowing the exact information, such as the quality of reading, his reading ability before accepting thiscourse . we could not conclude that course affords him this ability , it ishighly possible that although he finish reading in two hours , but rarelycontents he could remember ,or he is talented in reading , before heanticipates this course , he could achieve this objective already ,and so asthe same the other graduate(你的写法是先给出个大框,然后再细描,逻辑上说很舒服,不过这样感觉有点繁冗,而且有重复啊)(第二个人呢?驳论不全) .

Finally , the arguer unfairly assumes that it will beapplicable to send employees to this course .from the argument we know that ,ifthe employees want to engage in this course , they have to spend 3 weeks inSpruce City , however, there may be some factorscontribute to the absence of employees in this 3 weeks course(这个意思我看明白了,但是表达很不清晰)  , such as distances fromworking place , work requirements and so on . for example ,common sense tell us, editors could be the core figures in a publishing company , without them ,all the business would drop , it is highly possible that there are only feweditors in the company , if they are sent to the course , nobody would dealwith their works , even just some of them engage in the course in turn , wecould not evaluate the according profits lose during their course period .in addition, if add this cost with 500 dollars ,taking the course will be a not worthy choice

关于argu的写法我比较迷惑,有众多的疑问,尤其是段内的写法。大家一起讨论讨论啊。
