ISSUE36 - "The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries."

提纲：赞成一个人的伟大之处主要由后人决定
1.       不可否认，很多greatness 在同时代就被发现并能很好运用于社会，比如电脑
2.       但是，同时代还是由于局限性不能很好的发现某些greatness
3.       时间检验一切，只要是greatness是gold都能被后人评价发现

Can the greatness be only determined by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries? As far as I am concerned, both of them play a vital role, but the generation behind is more important.
   
Admittedly, most of greatness, which can immediately serve to work a fatal impact on the temporary society, is generally acknowledged by the contemporaries. For instance, the father of computer, Neumann, who made the first EMS memory program computer,will be recorded in the course of human history. His greatness lies in that it takes place of the complex human manipulation and turns the cumbersome computer to an easier and more convenient facility, which at once turn out to be the most greatest invention in this century. Now, it is hard for us to live without computer--- the product of artificial intelligence, especially in the scientific field and in the modern company. Majority of experiments and office automatizition are baced on computer. Definitely, as contemporaries, we contact computer, assess the computer,and utilize computer, the greatness is never be neglect. So such greatness like computer, which have been recognized and taken full use of, can be decided by us, and necessarily be used and revaluate by the next generations.
   
However, in some cases, because the limitation as religion and bureaucracy of certain times, not until the death of the individuals could the greatness be accepted by those who live after them. It is possible that the people contemporary hadn't realized the great use but the offspring do. Sometimes they even don’t have a chance, since they endeavor to show their work but lack of available approach. If we cast a look back at history, we can see that, Van Gogf, the one of greatest famous painter died in cold and starvation, whose painting---sunflower that has been sold for millions of dollars today, just worth few cents when he was alive. Van's contemporizes failed to explore the value of his work, in their eyes, he is so antipathetic to the society, sometime nearly crazy, with this disgreement and prejudice, nothing was him but a poor painter;while the people behind him evaluate him again, he is the legend that no one can transcend. It is time, that can finally tell treasure from trash.
   
History is like a sifter, wipe of the chaff, leaving only the most shining gold. As long as it is a greatness, though for the moment not been found by contemporaries, definitely will be valued by the people behind, unless the so-called greatness proved to be a falsity. Through the history have the events like this happened many times. For example, the geocentric system, once considered as god at that era, was finally exploded by Copernicus, who found the fatal mistake and revert it to the truth—heliocentric. Well goes the saying: Time tells everything. Greatness can finally be realized through continuers checking and silting. Though people behind cannot experience the event by themselves, they can feel it by the greatness or spirit leaving by these individuals.
   
In sum, these great individuals make the history, the point we never ignore. The greatness is more likely determined by the people behind, than the contemporaries, whose insight may be limited by the background of their living time.
