I don't know in what level your oral English is, so those are my suggestions only.
1 For the daily English, you can try to follow VOA.
When you are listening those radio reports, you can try to repeat and to follow what you hear at the same time. The following link is available for Chinese local net.

简言之，

从词源上讲：
pod-：源于apple的iPod，因为podcast技术刚出现的时候，iPod正热销，大家都用它听podcast。
-cast：源于broadcast，即广播之意。

从意思上讲：
podcaast有三要素：一个音频视频提供者、一个音频视频下载软件、和一个音频视频更新说明网址。
整个流程是：
1. 提供者发布音频视频文件，然后
2. 提供者在更新说明网址上作出相应更新，更新中说明软件到哪里去下载软件
3. 下载软件自动按照用户指定的时间间隔，去读取更新说明网页，一旦发现有更新就立即将音频视频文件下载到用户的硬盘上。

我认为podcast就相当于前几年说的VOD视频点播或AOD音频点播，但并不是在线播放，而是下载到硬盘，用户还可以将文件拷贝至便携播放器中（如mp3播放器）。一般每个节目的mp3文件10M左右，下载很快。

我觉得podcast的好处就是：把大量的、随时更新的视频或音频链接集中在一起，不用去提供者的网站，直接由软件自动批量下载，非常省事省时。

从听力材料的数量上讲，不比普特听力网少！都是英美人的自己收听的节目，真实、地道，又长知识、又练听力、又学习了医学英语，而且总又新鲜的材料听，爽！:D

下面分别介绍三要素：

(1)
提供者：现在很多媒体公司都在将自己的音频视频以podcast的方式发布，目前以音频文件为主（mp3）。如：新英格兰杂志、自然、科学、美国国家广播电台等，会越来越多的。以后，随时会有海量的最新信息等你下载。

(2)
Podcast的关键是更新网址，英文叫RSS feed。说是网址，其实是一个XML文件，告诉下载软件到哪里去下载文件，并随时更新。软件按照RSS协议对该网页进行解读。
先以nature，自然，为例：

后面我列几个我喜欢的医学和科学feed，更多的大家可以到google上以podcast为关键字搜索。

软件：现在苹果的iTune最火，本是iPod的配售软件。但是没有iPod也可以免费下载、免费使用，在接收podcaast方面不受任何限制。

软件的使用很简单：

程序安装，语言选简体中文
将feed网址导入iTune，这一步英文叫subscribe，中文译成订购，其实我介绍的podcast都是免费的。

1.菜单中的 高级－订购Podcast
2.在弹出的对话框中将feed的网址写到url框中去，点确定。订购成功，OK了！

这些链接是XML语言写的，点击后，浏览器只能显示源文件，没有什么意义。一定要把这些地址向上文我讲的nature的更新网址那样，写到iTune的podcast订购中去，才有用。
