Should the education be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, as the speaker asserts? As it is known to everyone, the interest can stimulate students to study hard and get high rescores in the subject. However, if the attention just only be paid to interesting fields, the result maybe lead an unbalance progress of one's thought, moreover, causing the student cannot fit to the society.
Admittedly, the interest, considered as the best teacher of human, can play a so important role in the studying that nearly all the students will learn much better in the interested subjects than others. Usually, the interest encourage us to spend more time the subjects we like, and we will never feel tired even if we have just little rest time. Asking more questions by the curiosity, a student also does more practice, thinking the problem times and times. All of these lead the students learn better in the interesting field than other subjects.
Considered the purpose, the education, which never just means pouring information, should draw out what is already within the student, as Socrates once said. From this aspect, the interest is the most concrete style within us. It should be encouraged, it can stimulate us study hard, and it can lead us recognize ourselves better.
However, at the same time, the education should teach us how to be a qualified citizenship- the belief of freedom and democracy and so many other things. From these points, the education should not be just contending the interest. The arts, literary, mathematics, physics, history should been taught at a suitable proportion to the students, never mind whether the students are interested or not. Only by this, we can prepare our next generation in good condition. Another reason should be considered significant: the student can learn very well is the education just be given in the interested fields. For example, one student thinks the physics is so interesting that he never mind any other subjects. He will find the research is so difficulty because he has no enough knowledge of mathematics. The science will get more and more complex, which requires people to get the knowledge form several subjects.
In conclusion, we should try to find equilibrium between the interest and other subjects. The interest should be encouraged for the reason that it can lead us learn much better in the interesting field, at the same time, we must recognize that if we only study by interesting, it is easily to get into a narrow way.
