How do movies or television influence people's behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.

With the fast development of technology and society, people’s standard of living has greatly enhanced with the help of modern inventions and creations. Compared with the living in the past, people have more chances on the way of entertainment, such as watching television and movies in theater. So some people consider that television and movies have negative influences on people’s behavior, while others hold the viewpoint that television and movies are beneficial to people’s behavior. From person perspective, movies or television influences people’s behavior on various aspects of daily living.

To begin with, movies or television have changed the pattern of people’s entertainment. With the new technology, people can watch many excellent programs, which have significant effect on people’s behavior. For instance, from watch the programs of science such as discovery or national geographic, people can get an amount of knowledge about the world, which is impossible in the past, owing the lack of television. Another example of movies influence people’s behavior is the imitation of trend. When people, especially young teenager, watch the pretty style of hair or clothes of the role in movies, they like to try this similar pattern to satisfy their psychological needs. Hereby, people’s behavior has been affected from movies or television.

Moreover, television have speeded the spread of news and information. In order to get the current events happened around the world, people can watch television for the new report, and can feel the real effect of these things. One classical example is the report about the war happened in Iraq, which leads many people death every day. From the clear and vivid picture of circumstance of explosion that causes deaths of children and women, we know that it is better for the governments to end the war and find way to avoid the deaths of common people. People march to protest the war of improper seasons.

Finally, movies or television also have positive influence on understanding and communication of different culture and country, which can add the peace of world. For instance, I like to watch the movies or television of American, and through these programs, I increase the understanding of culture or nation of American. Every year, there are many programs about the communication between American and China living large scale entertainment activity. I like the song of English and also spend time in learning English.

In summary, movies or television have greatly influences on people’s behavior and though some of these effects are negative, most are positive to people, such as increase the understanding and communication of different culture and nations, speeding up the spread of new and information, changing fad of current society. Therefore, we should do our best to avoid to negative influence of movies and television, enlarge the positive aspects.
