技术进步的主要目标是提高人们的效率，使得每个人都有更多的闲暇时间
1.不同意，技术进步的主要目标的首要目标是促进社会进步，改善人们生活。提高人们的效率至是部分目标。同时技术进步不一定能使人们有更多的闲暇时间。

1.       技术进步带来的好处。社会进步，改善人们生活。
   1>人的物质生活, 当代人衣: 保暖而且美观；食：丰富，营养，健康；住：building 能抵御自然侵害，家用电器行：飞机，火车，交通便利了，以前人不同地区的联系因为距离遥远而不可能。
  2>人的精神生活。人的娱乐，教育。IT资讯快捷，便利，丰富。手机，Email。
可以肯定，未来的人们生活会更好。
Admittedly,技术进步的一个目标是提高人们的效率。
  生产，steam machine, electricity, 当代的Information Technology。
(1)        Admittedly, technological advances do increase people’s efficiency to some extent (aero planes, calculators).

3. 但不一定有更多的闲暇时间。
(1)       However, with the development of technology comes diminished leisure time, for the purpose that, keeping pace with new technology in order to survive the severe competition nowadays depletes people’s time for leisure activities.
(2)    Moreover, it is inevitable that development is always accompanied by problems. Consequently, the quicker technology advances, the more new problems will come into being, which compels people to work harder than ever before, and thus, longer working time is unavoidable.
3.    科技进步的目的很多，改善人们的生活，拯救受病魔困扰的人，为下一代提供更好的教育，等等，这些都是比休闲重要的目的more vital concerns that technology can and should address
Actually, the primary goal of technological advancement should be facilitating life for human beings rather than creating more leisure time (advances in medicine, genetics, communication, education, etc.). Confessedly, the advancement sometimes involves improved efficiency, yet efficiency is merely a means to more important ends such as health, safety, education and freedom.

"I will no longer need to plant core by hands, the machine can help us do this, and it can do better than us", my ancle, a traditional Chinese farmer, often talks to me when I ask how his life has changed, " I have more time to read books and prepare the drama we will play in our villege." Lots of people share the same viewpoint with my ancle. The advance in technology has modfiey our life by increase people's efficieny, and liberate them from the long time working they can enjoy more leisure time. However, technology cannot always provide extra leisure time, under some circumstance, it derive our leisure time we used to have. And whether increasing people's efficiency is the primary goal of technological development is far from a straightforward issue, though certainly it is one goal.

The most recent quarter century has seeen the dramatic development in technology, which brought revolutionary change to our life, and more to our work. The machines widely used in factory significantly enhanced the efficiency, they can produce far more products than before in a comparetively short time, thus can offer more leisure time for the workers, who enjoy the  same experience as my ancle in his farm. Nevertheless, this is not always true in every field. To witness this, you need look no furhter than the daily work of your friends, and compare it with the last generation's. Especially for those who living in the city, the efficiency is indeed enhanced because the machines run faster than before, the workers are requied to keep up with them to produce more products, which are not need merely to meet the basic requirement as before, but to be competitave no matter  in quality or in quatity.  A survey conducted in the in the local companies shows that 73 percent of them require the worker the worker to work longer time than before. The increasing work pace has derived the work time, and can harm their health, less people are reported to be compeletely healthy than before. This has become a serious issue challenge the companies leaders, the society and the researcher in technologies.

As demonstrated above, technology has show its advantage of enhancing the efficiency, but this does not mean the primary goal of technological advancement is to increase people's efficiency. Lots of technologies are introduced not to the product materical. For example, the medical technology and biological technology, their primay goal is to cure some serious deseases which have threaten the health of common people, the basic requirement of people who living in this world. Also the same is the technolgoy in computer games, which is designed to improve our entertainment.  Thus there are other considerations when we introduce one technolgoy, nof just for improvingefficiency.

In sum, technology, which has been the topic of current world because its revolutionary influence in our work and our life, play a pivotal role in the world . It is necessary to reconsider these question: why we introduce the technology? and what benefits it bring to our life? does the harm if inflict on our world outweigh its benefits? I belive the technolgoy bring more benefits to our life, the most significant influenct is that it greatly improve our efficiency, but this not surely present us more leisure time.

Also the same is the technology in computer games, which is designed to improve our entertainment. And the advancement in weather forecast helps us to better make a plan to avoid being affected by the weather. The plane, ship and cars and the like are served to facilitate our transportation. Thus there are other considerations when we introduce one technology, not just for improving efficiency, and which one is the primary goal should be addressed on a case-to-case consideration.

In sum, technology, which has been the topic of current world because of its revolutionary influence in our work and our life, play a pivotal role in the world. It is necessary to reconsider these questions: why we introduce the technology? And what benefits it brings to our life? Does the harm it inflicts on our world outweigh its benefits? Only by so, can we better evaluate the purpose to technology. I believe technology bring more benefits to our life, including that it greatly improve our efficiency, but it not surely present us more leisure time.
