Mandarin Chinese
In short,语言的基本功能就是交流的工具,当用的人少时,就会推出stage In a social level, to keep up with the pace of globalization, government is encouraging the people to learn one foreign language. In an individual level, to make them competitive enough in the future career, people are willing to learn a language other than their native. And they all like to choose the practically popular language, which threaten the position of the world less know language. Fewer of the next generation are willing to speak their native language, the language will extinct in the future when the people speak them died.

3.        However, as part of these nations’ culture heritage and world’s heritage, these language make the world diverse, few will dispute that it is highly necessary to preserve their languages though they are playing a pivotal role in term of communication. It will be a great loss to these countries as well as to the world.
1>      像一门艺术。有些语言就像唱歌一样。
2>      有些语言,虽然不能方便的电脑出来,但写起来就像painting一样。
3>      对一个民族的语言的研究可以了解这个民族的历史和文化。
4>      保护这些语言,可以团结minor nationscan drive home an understanding of national values and a commitment to national loyalty
Explore its new value, attract more people to learn it and use it.
3>      But, forcing the student around the country to learn these languages is not reasonable because it will require the students to learn one more curriculum. But introducing it as an art or just require them of learn the main idea can spark the interests of students.
5.        In sum

TOPIC: ISSUE13 - "Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct."

Zhuang, a minority nationality, residented at the SorthWest of China, is facing a urgent problem. Their language, which has been used for more than one thousand years, is indanger of  becoming extinct. Actually lots of the world's lesser-know lnguages are sharing the same problem because fewer and ferwer people speak them. What we can do to prevent the situation becoming even serious is the question challenge these nations as well as the world community.  As part of the world culture, it should be protected. But the forceful measure is not a good choice. And the common people, I believe, to do their contribution to help solve this problem.

Few will argue, the main purpose of language is communication. One language will graduely lose its popultion when it is not widely used. This is become even true when it is comes to the current world where the globalization make the communication between different nations so frequent. Language, which serve as a tool of communication, is also required to meet the need of this communication. First, this language must be relatively easy to learned, especially by the foreigners; Second, it is required to be effective; Third, it is a pratical requirement, they shoud be the native language of relatively a large number of people in the world; And the final requirment is, to keep up with the increasingly development of information technology, the language can be conveniently inputed in the computer besides the traditional requirements can cleary expression ideal in speaking. Thus there appear several language which serve as the international language, such as English, French, Spanish and the like, and widely used in the international coopertion and world meetings.

In contrast, when we oberve the listed several lesser-known language, they can hardly meet the above requirements. That is they are not advanced in the term of use. But this does not mean they have no reason to exist. Definitely not, the special advantages they hold make them a special part of world culture and their protection is worthwhile. First, generaly, these language have relatively a long history, which make them a live proof for the research of this history. For example, one minority nationality of China, theire language remain constant as one thousand years ago. Second, for some of the langage, their writting is looks like a graph, has been regarded as a piece of art by some reseachers, though they are inconvenient to written down. Thirdly, some language, which is hard to be understood, can heart to be beautiful voice because of their rhythm and the way of pronunciation, like singing.  And also other merits cannot be citted make them special, and need protection.

What is the role of government in the language protection? It will be definitely wrong and will surely result in a failure government that the government force the citizens to speak these languages because of their fading communication function. One feasible measure is to encourage the people in these areas to learn these language, by providing fund to support the teach these language in  school and train the teachers who are specialized in these language. But all these measure should be based on vuluntary by law or regulation. Make these language can survive at least in their mother town, and can be protected. The common people, they can make their contribution by taking part in the protection and develop their interest in these language even not for use.

In sum, many world's lesser-know languages, which serve as parts of world culture, is in danger of extinction, because their inherent charactors. And they are deserve our protection because of these charactor, even not pratically useful. Some meature should be taken by the government and the common people, the effective and pratically feasible measure of goverment is to guide the local citizen to protect these language rather than require speak it in the whole society.

TOPIC: ISSUE13 - "Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct."

WORDS: 759

Zhuang, a minority nationality, living in the Southwest of China, is facing an urgent problem. Their language, which has been used for more than one thousand years, is in danger of becoming extinct. Actually lots of the world's lesser-know languages are sharing the same problem because fewer and fewer people speak them. What we can do to prevent the situation becoming even serious is the question challenges these nations as well as the world community.  As part of the world culture heritage, it should be protected. Some effective policies, which mainly guide the people, especially the native to speak these languages rather than enforce the whole society to speak, should be taken.

Few will argue, the main purpose of language is communication. One language will gradually lose its popularity when it is not widely used. This is become even true when it is comes to the current world where the globalization make the communication between different nations so frequent. Language, which serves as a tool of communication, is also required to meet the need of this communication. First, this language must be relatively easy to learned, especially by the foreigners; Second, it is required to be effective; Third, it is a practical requirement, they should be the native language of relatively a large number of people in the world; And the final requirement is, to keep up with the increasingly development of information technology, the language can be conveniently inputted in the computer besides the traditional requirements can clearly expression ideal in speaking. Thus there appear several languages which serve as the international language, such as English, French, Spanish and the like, and widely used in the international cooperation and world meetings.

In contrast, when we observe the listed several lesser-known language, we find they can hardly meet the above requirements. That is they are not advanced in the term of use. But this does not mean they have no reason to exist. Definitely not, the special advantages they hold make them a special part of world culture and their protection is worthwhile. First, generally, these languages have relatively a long history, which make them a live proof for the research of this history. For example, one minority nationality of China, their languages remain constant as one thousand years ago. Second, for some of the languages, their writing is looks like a picture, has been regarded as a piece of art by some researchers, though they are inconvenient to written down. Thirdly, some language, which is hard to be understood, can heart to be beautiful voice because of their rhythm and the way of pronunciation, like singing.  And these make them special, and need protection along with other merits cannot be cited.

What is the role of government in the language protection? It will be definitely wrong and will surely result in a failure government that the government forces the citizens to speak these languages because their fading communication functions make them can hardly be widely used.
First, one feasible measure is to encourage the people in these areas to learn these language, by providing fund to support teaching these language in school and training the teachers who are specialized in these language, while in the national require the citizens to learn one or two universal language which regarded as official language. But all these measure should be based on citizens’ voluntary option rather than by law or regulation. Thus guarantee these languages can survive at least in their mother town, and can be protected. Second, the government can sponsor a discussion, inviting the linguists and socialists to discuss the possibility of extending the function of these languages through making some modification to meet the current and future requirement.
Thus explore the new ways to help them continue there role as a communication tool. Third, the common people, they can make their contribution by taking part in the protection and develop their interest in these language the same as the interest in art, but not for communication usage.

In sum, many world's lesser-know languages, which serve as parts of world culture, is in danger of extinction, because their inherent characters. And they deserve our attention also because of these characters, even not practically useful. Some measures should be taken by the government and the common people, the effective and practically feasible measure of government is to guide the local citizen to protect these languages rather than require speak it in the whole society, the common people can try to find the values of these languages beyond a communication tool.
