Attention International Students General Skilled Migration (GSM) changes as of 1 September 2007 To be eligible to apply for a GSM visa from 1 September 2007 you will be required to demonstrate that you have completed at least 2 academic years of study.
Currently, 2 year Programmes at the ANU are registered as 94 weeks long. Under the new requirements, these Programmes must be registered as 104 weeks long.
The International Office are in the process of re-registering these 2 year Programmes as 104 weeks. Therefore, please be patient during this time, and if you wish to be eligible for a GSM visa, you will need to wait until this re-registration has occurred.
Once your Programme is re-registered as 104 weeks, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) will consider the 104 weeks as the new Programme duration, however, you will also need to have your Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (ECOE) amended to reflect this new duration.
Again, the International Office will undertake to amend your ECOE if you are affected by this change, and you will be contacted regarding this by 1 November 2007.
If you have any further queries regarding this, please email compliance.ieo@anu.edu.au |
