Will education be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student? Although courses catering to individuals’ interests would be helpful to their studies and inspire them on particular aspect, education serving society by providing a group of people agile and full of wisdom should be more generalizing.

Fostering wisdom people requires education covering as many as subject as possible .As we’ve mentioned, the goal of education is to provide society with a bunch of people of understanding, of perception and wisdom. Only if we achieve the goal of education should we judge that education is truly effective. We regard someone as a wisdom person basically according to the way he thinks and acts when something unexpected happens instead of the proficient skills he possesses. While cultivating smart ones the special courses catering to their interests are far more than enough. Looking back to the history, people achieving great accomplishment are not only the expertise in their fields, but also server as a leader in other fields. Aristotle achieves himself ranging from the arts and humanities to the physical and biological sciences with thousands of works benefiting to the whole society since the time he lives. We need not to be a thoughtful philosopher, insightful historian, agile aesthete as he does, whereas we need to enlarge our knowledge as much as possible since wide knowledge is the key to be wise.

On the other hand, education designed to meet the individual needs means narrow foci in which people can lose the far-reaching picture. It is true that the pressure on finding a job and the continuing unemployment issues become the center of our daily life. The majority of people choose their careers on the basis of such pragmatic considerations as the needs of the economy, the relative ease of finding a job and the salary they can expect to make. In order to enroll more qualified students and improve school’ reputation, many schools choose to set up colleges catering to the needs of students. Nevertheless, people seem to forget the original purpose of education. Technical skills are important, though, we also need people with moral and insightful value, people who can devote themselves to researching works. Even in business and computer fields, we require our employees, our companies credible.

Without generalizing the education, the people educating would possibly a proficient technical works instead of a wise person. While designing education to meet the needs of individuals, it is likely to lose the original purpose of education. Even though adjusting the education to the interests and the needs sometimes encourages people to study, making such kind of adjustment we must count for pros and cons.
