Do only specifically designed education which meets the individual needs and interests of each student be effective? The speaker believes so, for individuals are different, the contraposed way of educating to them will much more effective to individual, I concede it. At the same time, however, the efficiency of education is measured not only by one or two individuals but also by the whole lever of groups. And we human beings all have inertia, it may not good to just educate students for their interesting.
One reason for my fundamental disagree is that it is almost impossible to educate students really specifically now. As we all know, we have different levers of classed, but we have almost the same requirements of teaching for the whole country. Long years of practice proved that when faced at lots of students, it is more effective to teach in the same lever. The whole groups will make progresses in control and much easily. Clearly, it cost more outlay and great labors when educations are specifically designed. It still needs time to realize the dream of education designed to individual.
Another reason why I essentially disagreement with the speaker is that just aimed to meet the individual needs and interests may not the right way to education them. For example, most of us don’t like obey the rules. It seems that if there are no rules we will be more free, but it is not. Only when most of us obey the rules we have the basement to be free. Education are work in a way like that. Most of students don’t want to do the hard things during the study and if let them make the choice, the chance are that most of they will avoided to the difficult subjects like mathematic. Indeed the end is that they lost their chances to be better than they have thought. So, a common lever education not specifically to individual is necessary and effective.
However, having recognized the supernatural of one’s interesting; education should not ignore personal requirements. When there are passions in students’ bodies it will be much more effective, even it is common persons at other time. And there are outstanding students and there are geniuses. Also, education should not ruin them with routine works. Like a strong baby would not feel enough with the common quality of food, those out standing students and geniuses will not content with their ordinary education too. The only way to satisfy them is specifically designed their education to meet their needs.
In sum, when educations are aimed to increase the whole group of students’ study, it is effective to ignore the individual needs. But in order to motivate the students’ interesting and to help the geniuses, though the amount maybe very rarity compare to the total students, it need to be specifically designed to gratify individual’s demands.
