In this era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity, studying of the past cannot provide direct solutions to present problems. However, knowledge of history plays a pivotal role in our nowadays life that understanding of the past is significant important.

Admittedly, the past experience cannot give us any concrete answer for the present problems. It could be explained from two aspects. For one respect, there are no two exactly alike situations happened in the world, so we could not find the same kind of condition that happened nowadays in the past, no mention the direct solution of the issue. For another respect, there are many new things rushing to the society. For example, the universal of Internet web, the global economy, which totally irrelevant to the past, changed our life style in whole. Accordingly, the past would not point out any answer to these new things' problems.

Nevertheless, the understanding of the past provides some reference for the present. On the one hand, successful experience in the past can give us some enlightenment. Take the business realm as an example, providing great and successful business precedents in the past, businessmen get wide horizon, realize and introduce some wisdom ideas to their business, thereby increase the likelihood of success. On the other hand, mistakes happened in the past can remind us to avoid repeating those mistakes. For example, in world war two, the chauvinism in Germany led to great disaster not only to the Germans but also to the people of whole Europe. Fortunately, the government of Germany learnt from the history that chauvinism would be harmful, and thus takes effective actions to restrict the resurgence of Nazism in all of the aspects of society.

Additionally, the basic knowledge and fundamental theories in the past play a vital role on scientific researches and technological advancements at present. Before engaging in sophisticated and advanced works, we had to spend about twenty years on a large amount of knowledge in the past because those precious knowledge abstracted from the past is the foundation. Such as the research of an airplane, although it is an absolutely new subject compared to decades ago, it adapts some physical principals decades ago as the base.

Finally, history is a most significant part in the country's culture. Understand the history of the country can strength its centripetal force. For an illustration, after the US' citizens realizing that how their ancestors immigrant from difficult situations and how their ancestors build the US to the leading country in the world after great endeavor, they shall feel strong sense of pride of being Americans and hard working like their ancestors to maintain the prosperity of the US. Thus, comprehension the past will strength the cohesion and stability of a country.

In sum up, though history cannot supply the direct answer to the problem faced nowadays, understanding of the past provides many guidance for the present life.

这篇文章我写的伤透了脑筋。提起历史马上想到以史为鉴，读史使人明智，但具体的展开讲却没头绪。在以上文字成型之前我还写过两篇，但写到中间发现离题只好放弃。历史类，我的痛。

这篇文章真的写得很好，一段一段条理很清晰，段间各句衔接得很好。整体看下来感觉很流畅，找不到什么错误。

就是感觉第二段“For one respect，For another respect”和第三段的“On the one hand，On the other hand”都分点描述似乎不太好。给人一种句式重复的感觉。可能是因为两段靠的太紧的感觉。纯属个人意见，觉得不对一起讨论哦。
