社会没有给予思维能力,即推理和其他的认知技能,足够的重视。
提纲:
总:社会在大多数领域对思维能力的重视是足够的,在一些领域没有。这也是需要坚持的,因为思维能力和非思维能力(如情商)一样重要。
1、  在多数的领域,社会对思维能力给予了足够的关注,有些特定领域甚至是过度的。例子:就业市场上很多自主招聘的试题数学推理、案例研究等思维能力测试都占了很大的比重;在中国,一些中学过度重视竞赛教育(数理化),这些学生绝大多数在中学后就不愿意再从事基础学科研究;
2、  在一些领域,一些区域,思维能力没有被重视,有些是不对的,比如:在东南亚的一些贫困地区反倒不重视教育,或者进行的教育也是教条化的,程式化的,
3、  另一方面,非思维能力也很重要,比如情商、后天的努力、基础的劳动力(底层工人)
4、  结论,思维能力在不同的领域情况不同,评价社会是否给予思维能力足够的重视要依据该领域情况以及思维与非思维能力的平衡。

In most fields, enough attention has been put on the intellect, sometimes even overdone, though in some other fields, society does not place enough emphasis on. From my point of view, intellect should be focused in some certain realms, and also, society should have a balance between intellect and non-intellect, because they are all of great importance to a harmonious world.

As I say, in the major of realms, society does pay enough attention to intellect, such as reasoning and others. Take employ market for instance, many great companies like Mogen Stanly, Shell recruit their new staff by holding an examination with mathematic consequence, case reasoning and some other ways of checking a person's intellect. Obviously, they place the most significant emphasis on the candidates’ intellect, like reasoning and others. And we may note that, in some realms, therefore, there is too much emphasis placed on the intellect. In China, and also Russia, some high schools make their young students participate in competitions of Mathematic, Physics, Chemistry, in which plenty of extraordinary hard questions are given to students to test their reasoning and calculative abilities. In many times, they just overrun, I claim this by a survey recently reveal that very few of such students are interested in the basic research, which is such competitions' original aims stand for. And one thing we should know is that such competitions are often disaster to students, as they are not lead to be interested in, but take them as a method to gain the entrance of college.

However, in some other realms, intellect is not given the enough attention and therefore keep a district from develop. Especially in some developing districts in east and south Asia, including China, education condition is very poor. Even areas where education is established, teaching method is some kind of killing students' ideation, which results in the continuous poverty in these districts. In such realms, society does not place enough emphasis on intellect, and is very harmful.

On the other hand, non-intellective abilities, such as attitude, hard working, manual labour and so on, play crucial roles in our society as well as intellect does. Without bottom worker's hard working, clever people will not have enough food, clothes, house, cars. Without a serious attitude, smart people will not achieve great production and succeed in their field. Without non-intellective abilities, the world will be filled with superabundant theorist.

All in all, intellect's importance depends on the different realms society need to. To judge whether intellect has been given enough emphasis, we should consider the practical condition in that realm and make a balance between intellect and non-intellect. That is the very meaning I want to declare.
