In modern era, people with special individuality are more popular than common ones. Considering personal economic success, whether individuality or conformity plays a more significant role? In my eyes, both individuality and conformity are indispensable in the process of pursuing personal economic success. The relation of them to success just like wood and fire, as follow discussed.

First of all, for an individual, conformity is the base to live the society, which is the premise of success. I follow the reasoning that people have the primary requires to communicate with others, such as exchange necessities, transact, present emotion, gain comfort, and so on. Without these activities, at the risk of sounding cold, people have no distinction with apes. In the meanwhile, to better understand others and express ourselves, we must have the conformity. Without this premise, we can not run any farther in the process of pursuing personal economic success; and can do nothing than be trapped in our own world, especially in nowadays, a time in which success can only be achieved through collaboration.

However, conformity is definitely not sufficient for an individual to achieve economic success. The reason is, which most of the people can agree with excluding fortunate factor, that it is impossible the limited wealth is shared by most of people with conformity, if it is the case, we have to redefine the definition of personal economic success. In common sense, the ones who achieve great personal economic success are always elites standing out of the common people, unless our wealth is enough to an extent of satisfying all of our requires.

Therefore, individuality, which always includes braveness, enterprise, perseverant faith, sharp insight, profound understanding on economic, and so on, is important to differentiate those people of economic genius with others. In the realm of business, there are many such examples. For instance, most people could refer to Bill Gates when asked the most successful business man in last century. No one will not appreciate his braveness of dropping out from Harvard, a fascinating university for most students, to set up his own cooperation Microsoft, which becomes the biggest software company and the leader of the PC's software market. Moreover, the company which has achieved success in the past also has to hold the lasting innovative capability. Consider, for example, the case of CHANGHONG, which achieves great success in the sale of color TV products during 1990's, however, the market share significantly declines in recent years. The primary reason is that its products have no individuality comparing with other products as the competitors’ development.

As mentioned above, to achieve personal economic success, both individuality and conformity are necessary. Conformity is the wood, which provides the foundation stone in the process of pursuing economic success, while individuality is the fire, which provides the stimulation to achieve success.
