The conclusion that Old Dairy stokckholder should sell their shares and other investor should not purchase stock in this company seems undoutable at the first glance .The latest survey indicates since most respondent are prone to low-fat product but not high-fat ones ,the company whose products are high in fat and cholesterol will face the financial crisis .However ,several fallacy and obscure factor , which may lead to a premature notion , has been ignored before coming to the conclusion.


First of all, the survey fail to show me the real desire of most consumer , or predict the consumers’ further behavior .The respondents present their own thought ,but the rest ones, who have not answer the survey yet ,may not make the same choice .If the number of these data is more than of respondents , it is probability that the sales are not likely to dimish. In addition ,the component of the respondents is unable to see from the survey . In this case ,I hardy see their habit in diet , their age ,even their gender. In one word , data ,as the element , is comprehensive or not determine the correction of the conclusion.


Secondly, the argument hastly come to the conclusion that the company’s sales are likely to dimish. Albeit low-fat products abound in many food stores ,there is no evidence show that the low-fat food must gain a better result in the market .Considering the different price and taste ,the consumer may prefer the high-fat products to the low-fat ones.


Finally, even assuming so many consumer prefer purchasing low –fat products .The argument is flawed in the result that the profit will no doubt decrease .The progress ,which make the low-fat food may not only damage the taste but also increase the cost .On the other hand ,with the low price and well-location ,the profit of OD still can be more than of any other company.


In conclusion, the argument fail to consider several crucial point in the survey .Under these circumstance ,the conclusion has to be suspicious. After all ,a great deal of complicated factor lead to a simple .If we are masked by the superficiality, we will fall in the pitfall unconsciously.
