Many factors influenced a work of art is lasting value or not. One of the most important is its innate value, while the other may contain criticism or people taste and so forth. Insofar as the inherent value is, it makes many people take it for granted that the lasting value thing we are receive is provide by the artist rather than the critic. However, further careful weighting shows that other factors also play important roles.

First of all, no one can blind to the fact that every work of art is come from artist. In arts realm, we cannot predict the whole world be fraught of dull work and lives, everyone have to do something day and night, year by year, without anything amusement when there is no songs to move our eyes, no paintings to knocked our hearts, no work fly our thoughts. What is more, the true value things also come out from artists’ hands, even they may not accepted by contemporary critics. Fortunately, Beethoven and his works are accepted as soon as published, whereas Van Gogh suffered from non-recognized of his art and the subsequent poverty and mental derangement, but the commonplace is their fruits will be hand down from generation to generation. From which we can realize that the valuable things are the decisive aspects.

Understanding that artist is the fundamental for any thing is the primary step to obtain advancement, on no account should we conclude that the critics are redundant, In the first place, critics are maven, they can provide the common people with profound notion of the artist, we may consume too much time on these works and gain nothing as a result, even people’s average literature level is higher than before. Another fact is that critics can elect elite from thousands of works, by which the audience will pay more attention on valuable ones instead of assorts things, through their professional ability. On the contrary, artist also need some proposition at the same time, moreover, the critic and provide the new aspiration because they are out the eddy of thought.

In addition, there is no clear boundary between the artist and critics. A person may be an artist when he/she in one’s working room, however, he/she may turn to a critic when coming to competition as a welcome guest. The more competent he/she owns the more valuable works will make or the more reasonable judgment will make. So a person may be an artist as well as a critic.

In conclusion, the artist is the creator who provides anything we need, whereas the critic is the judger give people elite thing and induce people to appreciate such works and enhance themselves.
