"Fifteen years ago, Omega University implemented a new procedure that encouraged students to evaluate the teaching effectiveness of all their professors. Since that time, Omega professors have begun to assign higher grades in their classes, and overall student grade averages at Omega have risen by thirty percent. Potential employers apparently believe the grades at Omega are inflated; this would explain why Omega graduates have not been as successful at getting jobs as have graduates from nearby Alpha University. To enable its graduates to secure better jobs, Omega University should now terminate student evaluation of professors."

The author asserts that the students in Omega University getting higher grades are due to the evaluation of the teaching effectiveness which implemented fifteen years ago. The speaker also points out that it is the higher grades that cause the further inflation which is not good for students in Omega University to fetch a job, and calls for the termination of the evaluation of professors .However, the speakers fails to raise proper evidence for that assertion.
To begin with, the author recognizes that the high scores are due to the evaluation of the teaching effectiveness .But according to the time when the procedure was implemented--15 fifteen years ago, yet which fails to point out the potential changes during that time span. It is entirely possible that during these years, the faculty has changed a lot with younger professors took a major proportion who tend to give higher scores to students, or maybe they are likely to try something new, such as some new evaluating system of grading students. Besides, there is another possibility that during that time the quality of studying among students has enhanced a lot, or maybe the Omega University has provided better facilities.
The author also sees the grades inflated among universities. However, the lacking evidence of the details leads to the incredibility of the statement. First, it is possible that grades of other universities such as Alpha University have risen to some extent, too. Secondly, it is also possible that the Alpha University has been stronger than Omega Universities in some areas, such as helping the students adapt to the markets.
Finally, It is also unconvinced that the termination of the procedure could help deal with this situation. We are not provided with the standards of recruiting the employees of the companies in that area, maybe that of the companies see some particular abilities more counted than grades. In that case, Omega University should take affirmative measures to improve the service and the quality of teaching. Maybe evaluation is exact a good method of improving teaching. So to simply summarize as the author dose is not believable enough.
